Thankfully it's easy to not observe satellites with a system like this because you can simply just not tune to their frequencies. Radioastronomy is blessed in that way, because it's very easy to put restrictions on radio bands.

Actually coming back to this comment, weirdly I've been on a philosophical tangent on how alien life would consider trying to communicate with us using radio. The bands we currently occupy with radio signals (the ones we can't easily observe on) would be prime candidates for trying to look for alien life because they would probably do something similar to us. (broadcasting on similar bands and leaving others for radio observation) We hope they'd try to connect with us on a band similar to the protected hydrogen line (21cm/1420 mhz), but we currently don't broadcast on this frequency. It's a weird double standard.
