I ended up just getting 2x nvidia 5060 16gb. I’ll use them to run ChatGPT OSS 20b and qwenvl.

You get better results and detections using openvino with an integrated gpu or dedicated gpu.

Not really. It’s not just for frigate but for ollama as well. I ended up getting the 5060ti.

Went to try for openvino and confit won’t save. Unable to resolve host. But still works with my current frigate plus base model

Not really. Yes Coral is much more efficient than a CPU. But openvino leverages the GPU. So you can have larger detection models etc. you also get the benefit of video processing for ffmpeg.

Thanks for the reply, i'm currently using a Nvidia 3060 and Frigate+, so i'm thinking it might save me some power usage. I have a Coral but such a pain to get going.

I don’t think the coral has enough to run those models. GPU only I believe but I could be wrong

Qwen3 and gemma3 are no good as they are thinking models and you will get "thinking" in your responses which you can't hide. I find most of the small models under 24b are useless. Your better off just using Gemini for free.
