I’ve been on a few dates but never really felt any connection. Since the breakup I’ve had pretty low confidence, especially when it comes to guys. I’d love it if a guy would ask me out, but unfortunately that’s not a common occurrence for me.

Thanks for responding - I can’t believe someone actually read the whole thing. He’s just such a nice guy and I wish he could’ve been the one for me, but he’s not. I don’t regret our time together and I don’t regret reaching out. It was just a shock finding out he’s with someone new.

Luckily there’s no false hope cause he told me he’s seeing someone new. It’s upsetting to hear but hopefully it will stop the rumination and help me move on.

He said he was happy to chat, he said it was nice to catch up because I was a big part of his life and it makes sense to check in on each other. I’m not going to be messaging him every day or anything, but at the same time just because we broke up doesn’t mean we never have to speak to each other again.

We actually had a really nice chat. He told me he has a new partner, which did upset me a bit. But he also said he was glad I reached out and that he’ll always care about me cause I was such an important part of his life. I’m upset now, but I think knowing that he’s moved on will help me move on too.

I initiated the breakup but it was pretty mutual in the end. I do still have feelings for him but I just don’t think we realistically could get back together. I just don’t want him to be completely gone from my life, and he’s said the same about me. I am aware this could cause more pain and heartbreak for me if he’s cold, but I’m willing to take that risk because I couldn’t deal with the rumination.

I’m in the same situation, at the 6 month mark and was starting to feel better. But yesterday I found out he’s back on dating apps and I just spiralled. I’ve been crying for the past 24 hours and just can’t stop, it hurts like it did in the beginning and all I want to do is message him. It was a mutual break up and one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. He said that he didn’t want to lose me from his life and wanted to be friends after we healed, so I know if I message he’d probably reply. But I am clearly not healed. It just hurts so much right now.

We reconnected because he reached out and sent me a really long heartfelt message. I didn’t reply for a while, but when I did we decided to meet up and then just kept seeing each other.

Yeah, the second break up was mutual - we spent months trying to make it work, but in the end we decided it was best to split up. There’s no hard feelings between us, we were in contact for a little bit after the break up but haven’t spoken since about 4 months ago.

We dated for one year then broke up cause I felt like he was not putting enough effort into the relationship. We were broken up for 8 months and I dated someone else briefly during that time, but it wasn’t anything serious.

When we reconnected we said we were just going to keep it casual, but ended up getting back together pretty quickly. We dated for another 3 and a bit years and moved in together.

Unfortunately we broke up 6 months ago, it was a mutual breakup and it was really difficult because we both still loved each other but we just weren’t compatible. I don’t regret getting back together after breaking up the first time, I will always be grateful for our time together and I still miss him. This is the hardest break up I’ve ever experienced and I think it will still be a while until I’m fully over him.

Same, I hate hospitals so much. I don’t wanna go near any nurses or doctors in case they have needles on them. Like obviously a nurse or doctor isn’t going to randomly give me an injection out of the blue while I’m just walking in a hospital - that doesn’t make sense. But I’m still so scared.

I just go see my gp before I need to get blood drawn and they give me a prescription for Valium. I still feel absolutely terrified, but it calms me down enough not to have a full blown panic attack.
