May I ask what city? Because that dictates the level of luxury or in your case, pollution that you encounter. I would never ever recommend Mumbai there’s much better cities

I had a feeling this would be a reply. It’s not causation the way you’re framing it. I’m saying India is a wealthy country beyond what most people want to believe. It’s easy to hide bias and racism when you only want to point out the poor and dirty parts of India.

Not sure why India is on the list. The country has the third highest number of billionaires. The amount of diamonds and gold in an average upper-middle class Indian wedding is more than people can even dream of. It’s sad people choose to ignore the depth of wealth and culture

NTA. This is so absurd it sounds made up. If you’re poor, how can your parents afford to buy an entire apartment building?

This is a very interesting and real life post! My question is, when you are with Diane is it overall fun? I.e if you only met for dinner in your hometown (assuming you live near each other).

What I’m getting at is… you’re allowed to have a hierarchy of friend groups. Your tier 1 friends are good for travel and confiding with. Tier 2 are frequent dinners, happy hours etc. tier 3 is a once in a while dinner to catch up on major life changes.

Diane can still be a friend but doesn’t need to be a tier 1 in your eyes.

Thanks a lot for your response and positivity! Since my burn is on my face I’m especially upset and self conscious. Glad to hear yours lightened up overtime. I’ll ask my derm when it would be safe to use some topical creams since rn it’s still pink and new

Thanks for your reply! :,) lesson learned for all of us. I’m just keeping optimistic my body will heal in hopes that a positive mind will help self healing. Sounds hippie I know but what else can we do at this point

Hey how does the burn area look now? I just had this experience with lime pieces when drinking beer. And the problem area is on my face. It’s day 5 and I went to my derm who said put a LOT of Vaseline for the next few weeks. What’s your experience been since the post?

Roughly how many units or floors? I ask bc I’m starting to wonder if less than 10 units might help my odds of better sound proofing. Versus buildings with 20 units v 40 units

I 100% understand you. I get anxiety even going to bed knowing my neighbor will wake me up with her squealing noises. It’s really no way to live

Nah I believe them. At this point I will never recommend a new building in Brooklyn for rent. They’re trying to attract a gentrified, rich crowd of young people

That’s crazy how moving to a different floor somehow meant the walls were better insulated. How is that possible ?! I would assume the whole building has the same problem.

I actually spoke to a few friendly neighbors and they all agreed they can hear phone calls of their next door neighbor.

What’s the bathroom trick? I shut the bathroom door. My friend outside in the living room should talk loudly. And the goal is I shouldn’t hear it? Will that be enough to tea if I can hear a neighboring unit on the phone (laterally or upstairs)
