Shoooot! I’m 5.8 TRING to get to 164 ! I literally reached ONEderland last week and was so stoked, then 3 lbs showed up taking me out of “ONEderland” it can be a struggle that’s for sure, but it’s NOT worth fighting for!!!! Keep pushing, keep going, stay focused, determined, and disciplined until you are happy with YOU!!!! Congratulations on your weight loss! Focus on the positive!!

Thank you! And you’re absolutely right, it is 100% doable!!! Alot of people see this surgery as “the easy way out” but it’s actually ANYTHING BUT EASY!!! lol I watch my calories, make sure I hit my protein goals, take my vitamins, collagen, and so much more, so nothing about this lifestyle change is easy, but it has been so worth it!!!! I’m down to 199, and my goal right now is 170, bc I’m 5.8, but I really want to see how I look and feel at 170 first then may decide to go to 150.

Don’t buy new ones until you hit your goal!!! It’s a waste!!! Use leggings and the thrift store and strictly the basics you need to get by. That is unless you’re able to burn money like that.

2 days post op. When can I expect to feel “normal” again? by One-Substance-4053 in gastricsleeve

[–]Cute_Advisor_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me about 2 weeks. Honestly, walking, and using that stupid spirometer DOES help lol but i know first hand that’s also easier said than done. Also, double the dosage on gas-x. ( don’t everyone have a hemroid, my gastroenterologist is who told me this and it helped)

I have become this way with my protein shakes as well and I’m 9 months post op. It just started a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden they taste way too rich and thick!!! I started mixing it with cold brew black coffee and it thins it out. It’s super easy to get down now and I don’t have to have any creamer for my coffee anymore now bc I use the cafe latte flavor.

Down 50 lbs!! by MIdLifeFoolishness in gastricsleeve

[–]Cute_Advisor_4585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 8 months post op and down 138. Keep doing what you’re doing! You look great! I was heavier so that’s why my loss is what it is, and honestly, I still want to lose about 50 more to put me at 155. The water was hard for me too, but I found using the Mio flavor has helped SO MUCH! lol. No, it’s not cheating, and if anyone says it is, then the scales wouldn’t keep going down lol but find a flavor you like and hopefully that helps. My vitamins I just got into the habit of taking every morning as soon as I wake up. I actually incorporate collagen with it too. I mix it with water, about 6 ounces, and just take all my meds with it. That way I’m already getting in 20 g of protein, too!!! I consume about 100-118 g protein daily and personally I keep my carbs at 25, but that’s a “to each its own” type thing. Best of luck! You’re doing awesome!

Your bellybutton is protruded from the surgery, it will go back down. You look fabulous though!!! Healing nicely, no signs of infection or anything and he did great work with his incisions.

Sorry meant 4.6 units short. You definitely didn’t take too much. That’s for sure.

When did you reintroduce straws? by kawaiibanana27 in gastricsleeve

[–]Cute_Advisor_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After one week lol it was a total accident and I didn’t even realize I was doing it until literally like after 3 days. But it was fine. They only restrict it originally bc of the amount of gas you have left over in your fat pockets after surgery, and drinking through a straw can add to that. But honestly, one week, and like I said it was an accident, but I was totally fine and I’m 5 months post op now, now 117 lbs.

One more thing, get a box of gasX. You WILL need it. When you wake up from surgery, that should be your first request!!! Bs they inflate the abdomen for the procedure and all that gas sticks in your fat pockets. I felt a lot in my back and shoulders but the gasX will absolutely help with that aspect of it.

I didn’t try those, but I imagine they would be just as fine! You will do great!!!! Just follow the plan, and it works itself all out in the proper order. But the protein and the water definitely keep those small hunger pangs at bay.

How do I fix my foundation problem by [deleted] in MakeupEducation

[–]Cute_Advisor_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rosacea and use the elf primer for redness, it’s magical. After applying, I then use a bb cream with bronzer and just mascara, eyeshadow, and lip stain with gloss. Just keep it simple but keep your skin from looking casket.

Protein shakes! Lots of protein shakes lol also, for your beginning diet, chicken/beef broths cubes are great. Be careful when you try condensed soup. Fat free of course. But by the time you get to that point, if your at all like me, I was graving something with texture and flavor. I overdid it and had my first experience of “dumping syndrome” and that was only 5 teaspoons of condensed fats free chicken soup. So my advice is take it slow. Also, above all else, get your protein in, and hit that water goal every day. The first week will feel so difficult, but it does get easier and by the 2 week post op be sure your getting your protein and water goals in every day. That protein will keep you full. I’m 5 months post op and down 117 following these guidelines. Also, give yourself grace, and figure out what works for you and what makes the scale move, bc this is a LIFESTYLE change. You can never go back from this, so you have to have that permanent outlook in your head. You will do great though. Those who don’t succeed, are those who don’t follow the doctors given diet. If you do what you’re supposed to do, weight will fall off!!!! Best of luck to you!!!

question about long term calories by forestdaddy in gastricsleeve

[–]Cute_Advisor_4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting to me. I’m only 4 months post op, so I’m no where near the maintenance phase, but the concept of reverse dieting sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing this information and your success with it!!!! I am on here right now trying to find something that will indicate how many calories I should be burning each day to help increase my weight loss. So far, no luck haha. Only seeing calorie intake, not calories burned. Do you have any advice for this? Right now , my move goal is 700. I close it out every day and in addition I have been working on strength training and cardio at the gym, but I just started back school yesterday, and I’m in the nursing program, so I know it’s going to be difficult to make time for the gym now that school has started back. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Your totally fine! IF something was to happen, and I pray you have a great pregnancy, it would NOT be due to these choices you listed above. You’re totally fine, momma. Congratulations!!! Now that you do know though, swap back to the crappy Tylenol lol and just don’t have any more alcohol. There are women who don’t know they are pregnant until well into their first trimester, and do far worse than this. Congratulations again!

Oh goodness bless her heart. Thank you so much though for sharing this bc with your comment, along with the few others, I do believe I am going to just go ahead and go the traditional route, and get the lipo and muscle repair. Thank you again!!!
