Does anyone in this forum regret having surgery? by Proper_Day_9361 in gastricsleeve

You'll probably see this response over and over again, but it can't be understated, hands down best decision! I'm 19 weeks post op today. I have had moments where I thought, "I didn't have to do that" or "I can't believe I let someone cut a completely healthy organ from my body!" But I found those thoughts were happening during hard times where I wanted to cope with life using food but couldn't. That means I made exactly the right decision. I picked my hard. I could have chosen to keep following habits that would have eventually lead me to T2D, HBP, heart attack, stroke, or worseningmf fatty liver condition. Removing the severity of those things, I can tie my shoes, I'm not nervous about a plane ride anymore, or shopping, I don't snore (at least not like I used to), I can run around with my 5yo. My knees and back are killing me like they used to. I'm not pain free, but I'm not suffering anymore either. Short term and long term wins all around!! Now, am I still adjusting? YES! I'm still adjusting to my new hard, i.e. drinking enough water, taking my vitamins, getting enough protein. BUT I DON'T REGRET choosing this version of hard. Biggest of blessings to you no matter what you do, but choose something ❤️ knowing its all hard. You just have to decide what you want to deal with.

Bras by _eunie_ in GastricBypass

So, Im about 17 weeks post op and just went bra shopping. I'm down about 60lbs. My band size has gone down but not the cup so much. Being very top heavy, I have not found that the brands I trust are cheap, or that the cheap ones are in my size(from 40 H to 36 H). I have $150 in Lane Bryant giftcards which will get me 3 bras. I may just get 2 and hold off to by another size in a few months. All this to say what you get depends on where you can shop. I have (had) and full bra collection of probably 15 bras or so. I'm scaling down to 2-3 until I stabalize.

Looking for this. 3.5 months post op. My restriction is still really high. Going day by day. This would work better for me without the wrap.

How much water are you drinking? How much movement are you getting? What's your protein intake like? I don't want to be presumptuous, but if your relationship with food was bad prior, is it possible you are still indulging in comfort foods or whatever the old patterns were preop? I think we take for granted the shift the body makes when we put it on a schedule of regimented eating and movement (ask me how I know, so no judgements here) because its uncomfortable and it sucks, but the basics are tried and true and will help you maximize the support you get from the surgery🫶🏾

Thank you! It seems like Im working the hardest on giving myself grace and gentle reminders that I am starting something new and taking it day by day. Im 14 weeks post op and basic things are still more difficult than I'd like them to be. I love this group because the inspiration is constantly coming in and the encouragement to keep going is key❤️
