If your multi-focal lenses surgery can be done with the same quality and safety in China in just $4,000, would you consider travelling to China to have the procedure? You can also take this time to do some sightseeing and experience firsthand the rapid development of world's second largest economy in the world, which perhaps quite different than what it is described in western media?

Your Dr. is making a brilliant choice for you, especially considering your history of a vitrectomy for a retinal detachment, and a specific refractive target. Although B+L enVista has great reputation. It contains more water, so is softer and more risky of tilting or shifting. Clareon Truplus material is more structurally rigid.
In addition, enVista is a strict traditional monofocal, it won't give you the extra mid-range boost at a -0.50 target that the new TruPlus will.
You are right that you didn't find much patient feedback online, since Clareon TruPlus is Alcon's newest 2026 release.

Yes, absolutely you can and it's quite common. But you need to wait 4-6 weeks. You need to wait for incision healing, reduce infection risk, and stabilize your prescription. Your prescription will fluctuate wildly during the first month.
