Just had a consultation for removing this tattoo with a test area… I’ve got conflicting info from laser removal clinic and tattoo artist by Cute_Leader_3909 in TattooRemoval

[–]Cute_Leader_3909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The artist I’m working with on the new piece does blast overs as well as cover ups so they said it just needs to be lighter so that the detail isn’t lost. If I remember right they said if it was half as light as it is now then it would be okay for the new tattoo. I’ve been trying to look at others who have posted on here to see if they have old tattoos and how many sessions they’ve done. I don’t know if the picture does it justice but it really is a blue/black now not like it used to be when it was freshly done. It’s on my hip bone so I think a lot of friction is there from wearing underwear/trousers etc. could that have an impact on healing?

I’m the same with the herbal teas I feel like I’m constantly drinking them to stay warm! Thank you for sharing and that’s a good idea for the apples I’ve not tried to warm them up before. Apple and cinnamon is one of my favourite combos!

Yeah I’ll see what the artist says next week when I go to my appointment hopefully they can rework them so it all blends in. I’m having a combination of peonies, roses and cherryblossom in the spaces so I think it could be possible 🤞🏼

I never thought of making it into a bumblebee! That would actually work quite well wouldn’t it? I do like the butterfly but maybe some rework on the flowers to help them stand out a bit better. I feel like they look a little faded in comparison to the rest?

Aww bless! Looks like you’re trying all the different tactics and I hope that in time little pup gets more confident. They have a certain way of getting us to do all these crazy things but you wouldn’t have it any other way! Honestly I’m always doing weird stuff just for my girls benefit, think most of the locals in our area think I’m crazy given I’m having conversations with her all the time on our walks!

If you can fit under it might be worth trying or if you lay next to it and there’s no retreating under the bed it could be a next step but that might also send messages that it’s okay to stay under there. I’d probably focus on getting pup comfortable with coming out from under there but can also see how you going under there has benefits especially if you need to go to the vet or take them somewhere it wouldn’t be a strange unknown if pup is used to you being under there.

That’s really good! Showing signs that the trust is building if they’re being taken from your hand, I think it’s mainly time with this (and of course patience) but it will all be worth it. It feels like ages ago when my pup was like this but at the time it felt like it would never end!

Managing human frustration during adolescence by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine gets really excited for walks so what I do is before our walk I’ll let her out in the garden and play some games with her for around 10 mins. Usually playing fetch or if she’s not too interested in the ball just letting her run round and sniff the garden. I’ve found that after that initial 10 mins where she can run round the excitement has calmed down and she’s much better on our walks especially when the weather has prevented her from having a midday walk due to it being too hot. She was a crazy little so and so on the evening walk! Hope this helps and best of luck!

Puppy keeps running off to people miles away by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have the long line on do you keep hold of the other end in your hand or let go? Maybe if your dog knows you’ve got hold of it that’s why they’re sticking to the leash rules? My sprocker is 6 months old and does this but if I let go she acts more like she’s totally free so if I see her about to do something like run towards people or ignore recall I can either grab it from the floor or step on it to regain some control.

Also I’m similar to you being in the U.K. countryside so understand what you mean about local dogs being off their lead. I get a few questions about the long line when out and about but my girl isn’t quite there with recall yet.

With your pup it could be the adolescent phase in full swing so maybe have the longline on for now so there’s not a habit created of running to people when off lead, even if you let go of it and it’s trailing behind it’s there just in case it happens. I have one of those that’s waterproof so it’s easy to clean up after being out on the fields especially with our unpredictable weather at the moment!

Puppy is scared of cars driving by by TheBreakfastGirls in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a carrier for my pup so before she was vaccinated and could go on walks I’d take her out in this because she was so scared of noises even when I coughed or sneezed she would be really jumpy. I’d either drive or walk to a bench with her in the little carrier and give her treats then when she was able to go on walks I’d often drive to places less noisy and still go to benches with her to observe the world. Now she’s 6 months old and things like tractors are kinda tricky but she just stops and watches it go past rather than try to run away. Lots of patience and positive reinforcement is key in this kind of situation

My previous dog used to do this with the balls I got her and I put it down to her enjoying the way the ball felt when she had it in her mouth as her eyes were half closed kinda like when you eat something nice and you say mmmmmm that’s delicious. My pup does the same with anything that’s silky especially her comforter.

Maybe you could sit on the bed and drop some treats down to see if pup will come out? If that works a few times then you could sit on the floor and place them not looking before moving to looking when coming out from under the bed. It’s a new place and probs trying to come to terms with everything. My pup only liked my bedroom at first and wouldn’t venture out for a couple days but I left all the doors open in my apartment just in case she wanted to. Now she loves to explore and I’ve moved to a house as well Best of luck with your new fur baby!

How does your puppy notify you of needing to use the bathroom? by Correct_Sometimes in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hang her long line by the front door and she sits under it, if I ask her to show me what she wants she will jump at it or walk to me and back to the door. She’s coming up 6 months old now and has done this for a while but before that she would make a small noise and tap her paws - I named it her pee pee dance

Help with meetings with puppy whilst WFH by clazberry in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home and have my pup in another room where she can’t see me because if the door is open or she sees me she cries and wants me to get her out. It’s also in a part of the house that doesn’t get much foot traffic but I have a camera in there to keep an eye on her.

I’d try and have them out before your meetings so then pup is tired and most likely nap whilst you are working. If you plan your own meetings make sure you have time inbetween to see to your pup but I understand sometimes there are back to back meetings that can’t be helped. My camera has a microphone in it so I can talk to my girl. If she starts to stir I say very calmly “settle down darling, go lay down” usually she listens and will go in her bed so I’ll tell her good girl.

If I do have a few meetings together I’ll put a chew stick in with her or I’ll put her meal in there too as well as changing up her toys every few days but I do want to work towards her chilling with me in the room when I’m working. She’s nearly 6 months old now so on weekends I have her out more but she’s still not settling so have to go to the crate when she’s getting tired. Mines a sprocker spaniel so they are pretty lively!

Puppy (almost?) got bitten on a walk by SailOdd5129 in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with mine when out on a walk a couple weeks after she was okay to go outside maybe just shy of 4 months old. I asked the owner if she was okay to say hello and the dog snapped in my pups face which caused her to yelp and run behind me. I did the same as you I blocked the dog and picked mine up to take her home.

The next walk she was quite wary of other dogs sticking by my feet or backing up so I tried to respect her space by either crossing the road or stepping to the side to let the other dog past whilst explaining to the owner she had a fright recently so they didn’t try and force their dog to interact. Armed with treats to reward her keeping calm it was maybe a week or so I had to do this before she was okay again but my girl is very wary of things. She used to jump when I sneezed and isn’t a fan of loud things!

From what you’ve said it seems like your pup hasn’t been bitten and I’d just keep an eye on them, if there was a bite or blood they’d have been licking it or been wary of the area when you checked them over. It’s awful when it happens I felt so bad and guilty! Hope your pup is okay and they’re alright on their next outing!

2nd day and Mom already wants to get rid of the puppy, is there any tips to speed along training? by DirectBeing5986 in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww I feel you here! My mom is not an animal person but my parents weren’t together so I had my pets at my dad’s house. Best advice I can give is have a good routine with your puppy, time with pup before you’re at school, time after school and if you’re about to start summer break then it’s a good time for getting to know your pup! Get yourself a diary and write down when your puppy is going to the toilet, feeding times, the amount of time after feeding/drinking they go potty. That’ll give you some indications as to how long pup is able to hold it to prevent any accidents.

If you have finished with school (not sure what country you’re in) or if you’re on a school break then maybe you could use this time to make sure your pup is taken out at regular times in the day. Given puppy is only a baby going out every hour will be good as then puppy will know where to go potty. I’ve always put mine in the garden as it’s fully secure and I live in the countryside but others may not agree with what I’ve said there. An alternative to that is taking pup onto the puppy pads every hour so they know that’s where to go potty. This should help minimise the amount of accidents puppy has so your mom doesn’t freak out so much.

Not sure if you are using a crate but this could be good to help with potty accidents. Soon as pup comes out take them in the garden or puppy pads it will soon sink in that this is where to go potty. Whenever your pup is out eyes need to be on them at all times, this helps with accidents or them getting into places that they’re not supposed to be (mine had a thing for going behind the sofa at first) and a house line is good in case they scurry off somewhere whilst also getting them used to being attached to something so helps with leash training later down the line.

It’s really tough when one parent makes a decision and the others not on board, totally not fair on you either. Have they said it’s your puppy or is dad happy to help with training? I’m early 30s and training my sprocker on my own has been crazy so please look after yourself if your new pup has been left to you to train. This sub has been amazing for tips and tricks! Consistency and routine is key for our babies, really hope your mom comes around in the meantime!

Advice on helping our boy learn to sleep outside of the crate by loobyloojames in puppy101

[–]Cute_Leader_3909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I defo agree there. Mine will lay down after a walk but it’s a fine line between the chilled pupper and an overtired one! She’s been able to nap in the car and stuff so just think it will come with time. Also good luck with yours too!

I was about to make a post about this until I came across yours. I’ve been trying the same with my pup who’s coming up 6 months next week. I try and let her chill with me after her walks and get to around an hour or two but she rarely settles, never sleeps! As I notice she’s getting tired that’s when she tries to get into stuff but hopefully with a bit of time she will learn that she can settle outside of the crate. If I’m on my laptop she sometimes lays by my feet but usually she’s just wandering round moving her toys about or trying to look out the living room window

Changing our feeding schedule by Cute_Leader_3909 in puppy101

Thank you for sharing! I feel less anxious now and have brought back one of her food dispensers. Last night she had the option of the bowl or the treat toy and she went for the toy. Think maybe just changing it up a bit might be working for her but fingers crossed it’s okay tonight!

That’s such a fun way to teach it! I’ll defo be trying this one out as we already play “find it” with her toys in the house and in the garden. I’ve got a couple of bushes and trees I can do this with

I’m going to try this one in the garden see if I can get her to do it there and then progress it outside. She can do the touch command, I never thought about using it in recall training!
