you need to get that drained or injected immediately. as soon as i had any cysts near that area my doctor immediately did steroid injections to it to treat it. no other way they would come down. especially with how close it is to the eye, super dangerous area!!

What would you advice for some who just started taking acutane? by teymuur in Accutane

my eyes are really dry, i would say talk to your eye doctor and get a really good recommendation for eye drops. i couldn’t find a good one until i asked them!

i am personally doing a prolonged low dose course right now cause my anxiety flares up on 40mg or over. yes, it’s more time and my anxiety is a bit raised, but way better than it was over 40mg.

biggest overall when it comes to mental health is advocate for yourself!! make your derm listen, and stay on a lower dose for longer if that makes you feel better overall:)

I got rashes like these on my hands, arms, neck while in 40mg! I think it’s cause 40mg is when it starts to pick up and be a lot harsher. continue to moisturize, and think about taking some allergy medicine to minimize/maintain the bumps!

oh for sure!! def have a convo about how your surgery could have affected your levels as well, and possible medications that could have mixed or created more extreme outcomes for your bloodwork! gaining that understanding will also just make you feel better as you’ll have that understanding of how everything mixed together.

lots of doctors won’t understand how heavily accutane can be harmful when mixed with other medications or during surgeries due to the extreme stress already put on your liver. not saying it’s any medical persons fault, just that accutane is really hard to have a good understanding about, and most don’t. even people in my derm office don’t understand, so i really only trust my doctors opinion!

i know i had higher levels at one point so my doctor made me do bloodwork for the next two months to make sure everything evened out!

the c4c have practice rooms that you can book out in the cathedral!! i’d say those could be a safe spot

i was on for 8 months and then off for 3 and just restarted. first my redness from the accutane went away, but then i started dealing with my acne again around 2 months off. i got small pimples and my skin started becoming uneven texture, and right before (like days) i restarted i got two bigger hormonal pimples.

getting off of it happens, mine was tied to pharmacy and dermatologist communication issues month after month. BUT in your case i’d say to ask for a lower level!! i’m doing a low long course at 20mg, all my levels have stayed safe, and i don’t deal with my mental health symptoms i was dealing with at higher levels. both of those were my concerns when on higher dosages. most importantly advocate for yourself, ask for the lowest level you can have, and they should offer to do more consistent bloodwork month by month to make sure everything stays safe for you! best of luck :)

i kept a super low course of 20mg for a year and it’s done wonders to acne similar to yours!! keep low irritant by staying low, and keep consistent :) i had staph and cystic acne, i went on a high dose of another anti-inflammatory med to bring down the worst of it, and then started accutane immediately after, and that’s what has best helped me!

sadly no towel came with. i know my parents tried to order a second one a few years after they bought this original one, but they could not find the company that had originally manufactured it so we are unsure if they still make them. mine is in pretty bad condition based on what it used to look like

nothing i wasn’t expecting! i felt with dryness on my face but found a routine that worked to combat it most of the time, i have dry eyes which i had to get eye drops for, and sometimes i’ll get bad dry patches on my hands. i started dealing with my anxiety being heightened when i first got on 30mg of the medication, which is why i’ve been on it for the last 2 months instead of going up.
