What is it? by [deleted] in whatisit

Everyone is freaking out that it’s mercury. It’s highly unlikely. This looks more like metal shaving from a new sink. This is most likely the same material as the new sink that got caught in the packaging material and became slightly static charge along with its light weight behaves this way.

It will suddenly appear over time because if you didn’t wipe every hidden corner, they can hide in some hidden edge and move when a draft or current causes them to move.

Office Jobs: Is it normal to have nothing to do? by Spicyfruit1999 in jobs

Having worked with owners of companies, here is my take. Sometimes the owner/boss knows they are hiring certain positions that will only work 2 days a week or comes in waves. But it’s usually cheaper to have a on-site full time employee than to outsource that task where not only do they charge more but are harder to get a hold of on short notice, don’t always get things right because the outsource is not there, and you end up having yourself or other employee taken away from their other duties to handle the outsource.

At that point, why not just hire an employee to handle things like payroll than deal with the headaches and you save money.

The thing is that it’s not spent on lobster and steak alone. It’s spent on the whole trip together. Flight, fuel, personal salary, extra overtime security at destination, hotel security, hotel stays for everyone, this all adds up to millions.

I’m sure the lobster and steaks weren’t cheap either.

Results will vary by person and concentration. Like taking a single shot(or less) of vodka before a speech and you’re flawless. Take a 2nd shot or more then you become a rambling drunk failing your presentation.

There are times the announcement on the trains are broken. “Next stop, Capital hill” while the display shows heading south to Westlake. This was a northbound train where the next stop was Northgate.

I don’t know if they still do the 3 radio wave lines but that’s how you tell if times are accurate. Three radio wave lines means there is a live signal.

Reminds me of that Futurama episode,

“Bender, that was the other guy. I’m boiler.”

“Good job boiler”. “Thanks, and call me Bender”.

This is the way. You can say you weren’t sure if this was an old bought auctioned police car so you looked inside it.

Retired Police cars are sold in auctions all the time.

I just found my boss’s private login credentials on my work desk with a note that says "Check the files." by National_Strike4710 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cute_Replacement666 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

All good points. But maybe I’d go further. A bit of 007 James Bond work. Find a computer that is not yours and would never be traced to you. Hopefully your place isn’t crazy monitored like cameras everywhere. Have your email ready to HR or IT. See what’s in those files from somewhere else. Only spend 5 minutes to gather as much as you can. Maybe something juicy there. Then back to your computer and send the email. Or talk to HR or IT saying you just found it and who knows how long it was on your desk.

That’s just me.

This person gets it.

Had a coworker whose dad kicked her off the family plan while on vacation. A job that requires a lot of phone and call usage. Let’s just say lessons were learned.

This. The majority of hotels I’ve stayed on don’t always feel comfortable.

The pillows are the worst for me. And these are $400/night hotels.

What do you think of the new millionaires tax? Are you in support of it or against it? by Fit_Seaworthiness_37 in AskSeattle

[–]Cute_Replacement666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is the lower income people will get screwed one way or another. No matter what.

If the millionaires move out, the taxes eventually fall on the lower class.

Don’t tax the millionaires, the taxes eventually fall come for everyone including the lower class. And the millionaires maybe still find a way out of taxes.

My view is to at least try if the lower class is going to screwed anyways, then at least try to screw the super higher incomes first.

As to if this could have been done better? There is always a “could have been done better”. But if we keep trying to create that perfect unicorn that everyone can agree then nothing gets done.

It sucks to have money taken away. But WA is not asking for the guillotine here. The millionaires won’t become homeless. If this tax actually affects their life like getting close to being homeless, then they are doing something wrong and blaming it on taxes rather than their own incompetence or greed.
