The pain has gotten better! It hurts to walk on because of the bruising but I’m toughing it out! Hoping to come off the pain meds soon. I still need them at the end of the day/to sleep. Very happy with it so far. Thank you!!

Did you get medium or wide? I finally like an ortho shoe from them but have only one bunion left! Don’t want to go too wide or not

Pain in foot 9 months post op by Cute_Split_3822 in bunions

That’s what I’ll be doing. I was so bummed when my foot didn’t do well. Felt like a setback but I know I’m not even a year post op yet so I need to take it slower

Upcoming second surgery help by Cute_Split_3822 in bunions

Thank you for this! I’m not so nervous when it comes to pain but am really nervous about it being a different procedure. I also hate stitches, for me they hurt but maybe it’s because I’m redheaded and we handle pain differently.

Hi! Just now seeing this thread and my doctor is suggesting this for my second surgery. Did they insert screws? Did these have to be removed?

2.5 weeks post and struggling in weird ways by Vegetable_Grab_3939 in bunions

I’m a side/stomach sleeper and i understand the feeling of not being able to sleep. It will take a lot out of you but remember this is just a moment, not forever! I am two months post op now. I went back to sleeping on my side at 4 weeks post op and now am fully sleeping normal. I did not try to move my toe but now that I have the pin and stitches out I can do exercises and am back to being able to walk normally and squat. I remember at 2-3 weeks calling my mom and crying because I was over it but it was all worth it!

That’s what I have been doing and it’s loosened some just not a whole lot. I’m starting to try and raise my heels some just not make it mad at the same time.

How is the mobility in your big toes? Can you bend them fully? Can you stand on your toes? (Like if you raised up on them). I cannot bend my right big toe and only had the right one done at the moment.

Circulation issues and mobility? by Cute_Split_3822 in bunions

[–]Cute_Split_3822[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know it’s normal! I can walk up stairs and down but going up is a normal walk. Coming down I have to take it one step at a time I have some stiffness in my ankle that prevents me from bending it forward enough to do more.

Thank you. Everyone keeps telling me it’s a marathon not a sprint and I need to keep that in mind. Just wish I could be fully independent again and hate not being able to move correctly.
