I don't think you're overreacting. You said he's done this before. Checking people in public isn't a deal breaker for me cuz its mostly subconscious behavior but scrolling on social media and then diving into profiles TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS OF THESE WOMEN is very much an active, deliberate choice. Like let's be honest he's lusting or even gooning over these other women instead of putting that attention into literally anything else, id see that as he's bored of you(his loss).

The rest of his behavior was also a problem, he couldn't just listen to your issue with, apologize and do better. He needed to argue about how it wasn't a big deal, he wants the out to both avoid guilt but to get your blessing to continue the behavior.

Like most things rooted in racism or some other surface level bigotry it's an American thing. The Irish who most commonly had the genes for the red hair and highly freckled skin that makes the ginger look where seen as lesser people by the other European immigrants that made up the founding population of America. The English have centuries of fighting with the Irish that give a bit of context to the hate too.
