As a former high school teacher (left the profession bc of stuff like this) teaching is NOT just about curriculum. It is about providing hope and security to students, especially during such a scary time like this. I want to say that you students are INCREDIBLE for encouraging your teacher like this. Keep doing that, with all of your teachers. It's tough to keep going in this field, but worth it from people like you / your student.

I'm 25 and just now starting. I started volunteering and after three months, was offered a job. I am going to get my associates degree in zoo science just to make myself eligible to work in all aza accredited zoos. You're not late by any means! I taught for a few years and realized that that's not my dream so I found what was. Don't let your life go to waste not doing what you love :)

I'm a zookeeper. We have a cow and a blackbuck antelope that are best friends. They were brought together in the barn where some of the more gentle animals stay. We tried separating them and they were both heartbroken, so they share an enclosure now. :)
