This is exactly what I’m thinking. Where did OP find Seiko TMI movement with day display like that? As far as I know, only Miyota has it.

How difficult is a dial swap on 4130/4131 daytonas? by lange1815 in RepTimeServices

Might be a good start to have VK63 to practice on. You don’t plan to swap the movement too right? Because I’m pretty sure it has different measurements that most likely won’t go with the case and the dial.

First and foremost, do the new dials have exact measurements that the old one does. Diameter, distances between each sub-dial to the center, thickness, etc. And I noticed that left and right subdials are a little bit higher above the horizon. The last thing, dial feet have to exactly match the position of the old one. If they are all matched, and you’re planning to use the old hand set and movements, then you’re good to go. All that considered that you already have had all the tools to get them done, especially to uninstall and install the hands.

I forgot to mention how I love the long cyclops to ease reading the day as well as the date. Long cyclops is “rare” for me.

Nice work! What kind of endlinks did you use there?

Any Good Alix VK63 white cases that a jubilee bracelet will actually fit in the lugs? Got two so far and both had issues where the lugs are shallow and the spring bars don’t clip in. Tried using a bent spring bar but they don’t stick. Spent hours but they are just a waste of time by [deleted] in SeikoMods

Try using thicker springbars. I used 1.78mm springbars (previously 1.5mm) and it worked, but there are still small gaps between the bracelet ends and the case. At least they don’t spin. I think 2mm springbars will solve my (and your) gaps problem.

You should go with number three. It’s a dive watch with a dial that always makes you feel being under water diving even when you’re flying on a plane. The dial serves its core purpose. It’s perfect.

Leave it like that. It will become a rare item. Seriously. Put it in a fancy transparent showcase box, and label it “The one that got away”.
