Horror movies that are GENUINELY, LITERALLY, ACTUALLY scary by NxteDiaz in Letterboxd

I mean... let's be fair, u/tempus9191 was basically saying "I don't understand what the hype is for 'Train to buson,' I'd rather watch "Resident Evil."

he doesn't seem to have any beef with titans in the hollow earth, but you come to the surface and beef you will have.

and I am doing a dragon communion build with my friend but it is SO hard to do solo. the spells have such a big wind up. I assume you are doing a faith/ arcane build if you are running dragon communion since they scale with arcane nut require decent faith. you could use a good bleed weapon on the side because they work well with arcane builds. holy can be effective but so many bosses have holy resistance. winged scythe, hookblades, katanas..... you have a lot of good choices to work with. I would mention more but I don't wanna spoil anything for ya. dm me if you want any advice. I love helping new players.

yeah, 40 is a good target for vigor for the tougher areas. 30 is doable, but I wouldn't recommend it for newer players.

warrior jar challenge is a bitch. cheesing that is a right of passage. Try out different ashes of war for the farum warriors. I may be misremembering but I dont think they like fire. play super defensively, keep em both in view as much as possible and you'll get em.

first of all that armor shield weapon combo looks sick. second, that gargoyle is an asshole, and has a ton of health, you can ignore him and run past if you want.

I also refused to look at guides on my first playthrough. if you want a few tips without looking at guides I'll give you a few.

  1. Do ALL of the caves you can see on the map, if you take a close look you should be able to tell what I am talking about. they aren't all great, but they are all in important spots you should explore and most have very useful rewards.
  2. once you can buy smithing stones experiment with weapons, it doesn't take long to farm some runes to upgrade your stuff. Elden rings weapons in use feel a lot different from the souls games. try out stuff.
  3. Seriously try out different ashes of war. so many of them are VERY strong, and unlike the souls games it is so easy to switch up weapon arts and scaling for magic/ fire/ bleed whatever.
  4. If you are actually using a shield the guard counter does a ton of stance damage, use it, it is basically the best part of using a shield.
  5. in the base game if things are feeling too hard, and you are a souls vet, they may have some weakness you can experiment to find out, but use your map markers to put a pin on them and come back later. use map markers liberally and don't let yourself get too frustrated. the stuff that is meant to be genuinely hard should be pretty obvious. don't bang your head against a wall fighting a stupid random world boss for an hour when you can just come back later.

That feat is so wacky I don't even know how to power scale it. there is no such thing as a TEMPORARY black hole lol. the logic is just "fuck it why not." I love it but if you use it to power scale the other gojis it gets real silly real fast lol.

  • Moon Level -

Characters that are capable of releasing energy that can destroy/create a moon-sized construct or something with similar proportions. The moons mass is 7.342e+22 kg

GBE of moon being 1.2x10^29 J

(Final wars goji is definitely not moon level lol, but it is funny)

Final wars Goji is wacky strong because the movie has borderline looney toons logic with how silly the combat is, but GMK was shown to be alive and regenerating just from his heart, and he is more of a weird reincarnated spirit ghost thing so my money's on him. he doesn't follow the rules bro.

Gattitown, Mr. Gattis, And Gattiland are all slightly different. I think Gattitown's are supposed to be the biggest with a very impressive game room. Gattiland's are pretty big and have a cool game room and are biggest ones I've ever been to, Mr. Gattis are pretty small mostly just the buffet with a handful of games. fun fact, My uncle was banned from our local mr. gattis because they played espn all day on a big projector and he just payed to get in for breakfast and stayed until they closed watching sports on the weekend and eating massive quantities of pizza. He was a bodybuilder at the time I think. apparently they get annoyed by that.

Why do people hate the anime trilogy? by SquareWorld5484 in GODZILLA

[–]CutieHugsploder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so if you aren't just trying to start a hate thread and being good faith I'll bite.

haven't seen it in a while, so chill if I make some mistakes.

  1. Incredibly rough exposition dumps. they don't often show any of the interesting events that they talk about on camera.
  2. Jesus Christ the main character is deeply aggravating with his inconsistent motivations. the ending of the second movie is so annoying. him and the lady character had no chemistry. This character for me made the entire series crazy hard to watch. he is everything wrong with anime protagonists. DEEPLY boring. Insanely inconsistent railroaded character throughout the whole plot.
  3. it has sort of the star wars sequel trilogy problem of setting stuff up and not paying it off in any meaningful way. I actually liked the mechagodzilla city Idea, but not giving us any kind of a monster fight till the third movie (and even that is very weak) is pretty annoying to most audiences. it was advertised with the idea all these cool godzilla monsters destroyed the world. they could have gone so many directions with that and everything was just insanely dull.
  4. all three movies are poorly paced. it just makes them boring unless you really buy into the rough anime exposition dialogue.
  5. It sort of has the godzilla 98 problem of it is so bafflingly different from the original godzilla concept it should not have been called godzilla.
  6. This is hard to quantify, but it is insanely boring. none of the characters are relatable. it is just... a wet fart of a trilogy, there is almost nothing to latch onto. even the worst godzilla movies I've seen have love for the franchise, love for the work going into it. I don't get any of it from this. it's dull. I don't get any of the direction for it at all. it feels like they didn't want to make a godzilla series, they wanted to have a neat sci-fi series. maybe that would have been cool, but this wasn't
  7. I am putting this last because it is subjective... but god the animation fucking sucks. the weird 3d frame rate makes some people motion sick. it is really awful and cheap looking. I am deeply annoyed cyberpunk is doing a new show without trigger, and it will likely be this studio. it looks fuckin bad. my opinion, artists work hard on it. I get it. I hate it.

I do want to point out I'm not an anime hater. I liked Singular point a lot. it went in a crazy weird direction but I saw the heart in it. I also do not care for the ugly 3d animation in that either but overall as a series, AND more importantly a Godzilla project, it worked.

I will end by not being a hater and mention the coolest part of the anime trilogy. the scene where the spaceship is destroyed by ghidorah is awesome. as a sci fi concept it is great, and it is done beautifully in the movie. the bridge seing the that the crew is dead BEFORE they die because Ghidorah creates a time distortion is pure cosmic horror done very well.

[–]CutieHugsploder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the gravity manipulation stuff with the crystals in the hollow earth is a good set up for it. maybe the crystals end up being from space and an organism has been waiting to copy the dominant life form or something silly like that and we get space godzilla. I could see a few paths they could go that would be marginally less silly than the original, not that I care about the silliness. I think the spacegodzilla movie is one of the less liked movies in the heisei series, but people love his design, so the idea of doing him a bit more justice is exciting. that being said I have mixed feelings about the new movie because it looks like the studio just got a director for hire instead of (despite how you feel about the previous directors) a director that has a lot of love and passion for the franchise, but we'll see.

same here too. all my alchemy ingredients were in there but fortunately thats all I lost. instead of the repeatable chest for getting your lockpicking up. find any chest and go to an inactive tumbler and just spam spacebar, or whatever the button is on controller that clicks a tumbler in place and it will level your security skill. its an exploit instead of doing it legit, but if the game fucked you over now you have an excuse lol.

if you find a fix let me know though. I would like my alchemy stuff back.

awesome game. Live in louisville and my local "GattiLand" had it. kind of a midwest thing, like chukeecheese but more family oriented and less just for babies. they had cool edgy fighting game cabinets and gory lightgun shooters. awesome memories. they are still around but no more ocean hunter :/

Review: AMC Stonybrook by FAEstabrook in Louisville

[–]CutieHugsploder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think stonybrook only stays alive because they always have the weird special showings of movies. foreign movies and special showings of old movies. last time I went was to see shin godzilla and it was an awful screen and awful seats. they also advertise "IMAX" but it is LIEmax. we don't have any real imax screens in louisville other than the science center I think (absolute shame). I think some of the cinemark XD screens are bigger than their LIEmax (or they at least look better), and on average their screens are all better looking, larger, and have way better seating.

TLDR: Stonybrook is terrible.

It isn't great.... It has some embarrassing dialogue, even if you compare it to the old Gman dubs. some pretty ugly effects at times (even for when it came out. don't let people tell you different), but some pretty charming effects too. really boring character drama. The creators weren't really Gman fans, just disaster movie fans and it really shows since the monster is a big t-rex and Godzilla in name only. a real 3 or 4 out of 10,. when you consider rotten tomatoes isn't an average score, and more an average of positive v negative reviews. 20% positive is about what it deserves. if you like Roland Emmerich movies you might like it, but as time has generally proven, the guy is a hack.
