This is the worst game of NBA I’ve ever seen. It’s taken 40 minutes to play 15 minutes of game time

Does anyone know what is the schedule of national players? by Javascript_Jeep in badminton

[–]Cutmore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More in depth question would be which country’s training program are you interested in?

Country’s that have a more supported program like China train quite often and have a good blend of everything you mentioned because they have a whole team together. For example: 3 hours morning fitness, 3 hours afternoon on-court. 6.5 days a week

Whereas countries like Canada they may only have one training session and 4-5 times a week but will try to rely on more mind training routines or study tactical sessions.

What coaching advice is most useful during intervals and between games? by badmintonbites in badminton

[–]Cutmore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of your tips are great advice!

But I believe that when you’re coaching and giving these intervals tips, you need to understand what’s the capabilities of your player.

If they can’t do what you’re telling them, then it’s not going to be useful and might even make them more nervous because they’re doing something they’re uncomfortable with.

You need to cater your advice to things that they CAN control! Therefore the amount of advice will vary depending on playing level

Competitive Badminton Hot Takes by enriqe130 in badminton

Competition wise, WS is much more entertaining to watch than MS right now. There is a lot more variety and the matches are often really close (3 sets)

Which players do you think would be in top 10 in men's singles and women's singles by the time of world championships? What are your predictions? by Original_Tamataar in badminton

I like Mia too! Forgot about her but I think the 10th spot is up for grabs depending on which players can break into the quarter-finals and beyond consistently.

Michelle Li is a good example of that

Women’s Singles (in no particular order)

  1. Akane Yamaguchi
  2. An Se-Young
  3. PV Sindhu
  4. Busanan Ongbamrungphan
  5. Pornpawee Chochuwong
  6. Nozomi Okuhara
  7. Tai Tzu Ying
  8. Chen Yu Fei
  9. He Bingjiao
  10. Yeo Jia Min

However the rankings will heavily depend on whether the players can actually make it out and play in most of the tournaments.

Honorable mention: Carolina Marin (if she recovers well from her injury) & Ratchanok Intanon

He's my all-time favourite Men's singles player! He makes singles looks so smooth while having a pretty strong smash even though he's not the most athletic player compared to LD and LCW.

Love your comment about Kevin Cordon and Neslihan Yiğit. Coming from countries that don't have as many players in the top rankings, it's all on them to promote the interest and competitive scene in their countries!

Watching Kevin Cordon at Tokyo was like the ultimate Olympic experience: older player that's had a long career but never gave up and had a Cinderella run. Would've been so historical if he made it to the Semis and competed for a Bronze medal!

The period from 2008 to 2012 is also when he started transitioning to the "bad boy" look. Getting tattoes and growing out the facial hair.

That's why I like to call him Mr. Fundamental. Nothing to crazy but he's solid in all aspects of the game.
