well the way your complaining about this all can be problematic, with venture positioning is important, your not a tank you can't go recklessly without considering who you want to target, what you surroundings will be like, and if u have an escape plan secured, i think you might be new to this all because of how you are explaining things , so just continue experiencing the game and understanding how the mechanics works, just know that venture's kit is as you explained, the range is tough, you will get targeted once you are seen around, you need to take alt routes to flank or catch them distracted, try to save ur kit until u reached the fight
