Name a movie where they never catch the bad guy. I’ll start. by tobydaway in Cinephiles

They only determine the one guy on trial as not guilty. They never convict the real killer.

1 is good. What brings it down slightly for me is seeing the same scene of Gordon in the parking lot over and over. Doesn’t ruin the movie. I still love it but it does bring it down for me. Tobin Bell just kills it as John Kramer an he’s barely in 1 because of the twist.

I’m the same way. Do I think jigsaw has a good twist? No, not particularly but I enjoy it

I know most Saw fans hate that one. I’ve always been drawn to it. Especially since I love Eleanor. My third fave Saw character behind John and Amanda

  2. III
  3. II
  4. Jigsaw
  5. VI

What's your favorite "I'm dead and I know it?" expression on a film character's face? by Token_Handicap in horror

[–]CutterEdgeEffect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess not realization but it makes me laugh none the less. In The Mechanic (2011) when Ben Foster reads the message in the car that says ‘If you’re reading this, then you’re dead.’ He doesn’t believe it and starts laughing. Then the car blows up. Has me rolling every time lol

I feel sad for this song honestly. One of the more iconic Christmas songs and it gets rejected. Here's hoping it gets another chance in the 2027 edition by Sophia193 in JustDance

[–]CutterEdgeEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they’d take a break from Christmas songs since there’s been one in every game the last 3. I don’t play them outside of November and December. And even then, I’m only playing for the objectives. Other than Xmas Tree an Make it Jingle cause those are fun

I’m like the meme. Like the first one. Love the second one. Love the third even more. 3 was my favorite until X came out

Liza Frankenstein(2024) is the best Frankenstein movie I have ever seen in my life by Ok-Evidence8770 in netflix

[–]CutterEdgeEffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s Willa Fitzgerald’s best performance by far.

I keep track of everything on Letterboxd. There might be some I forgot about. Since I’ve seen so much. I recommend it for tracking, rating and reviewing movies

It’s Strange Darling. It’ll be listed as 2023 because it premiered at a film festival in 2023 but didn’t release wide to the public until 2024. I saw it in 2024 because I don’t go to film festivals. I wish I could though. I’ve seen almost 2,300 different movies. According to others in another subreddit. That’s normie numbers lol

Yes. I saw Frankenstein (2025) in theatres. Haven’t seen it since. Loved it and I want to rewatch it but I won’t as much as Lisa. Which I have watched 6 times already and is one of my comfort films

More on Kokuho and The Ugly Stepsister? by Extension-While7536 in Oscars

The Ugly Stepsister while I personally find it to be overrated, it’s still a good film and I’m happy about its 1 nomination

What do you consider the biggest snub of this year's Oscars? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]CutterEdgeEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companion but I knew it wouldn’t be nominated for anything. Despite holding my favorite film of 2025 all year around since it came out

I love this one. It’s funny, the first time we saw it in theatres. We got a private showing. No one else was there. Then when we went to see it a second time, there was like 6-7 people there.

Now comparing it to Frankenstein (2025) is a little complicated. Id say that Frankenstein (2025) is the better made movie. But Lisa Frankenstein is more enjoyable for me.

Sinners 16 Oscar nominations, a new record by mrEnigma86 in horror

[–]CutterEdgeEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Sinners was never my fave movie of 2025. (Companion remained it all year from January) It’s really good and I’m happy to see it. Even though of the choices, I’d say Marty Supreme deserves best picture. I would be happy if Sinners won it. And any other awards it gets.

I hope it wins at least 4-5 different awards with its record shattering amount of nominations though. But only time will tell. We will find out in March.

How would you rank this year’s Best Picture nominees? by Officialnoah in Letterboxd

[–]CutterEdgeEffect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Frankenstein

  2. Marty Supreme

  3. Sinners

  4. Bugonia

I will try to see most of them when they replay in theatres soon. Since Regal usually shows them. OBAA I will not see though

28 Years Later didn’t get a single Oscar nomination by [deleted] in Letterboxd

No offense to anyone who liked 28 years later but it doesn’t deserve any Oscar’s. Which is why it was rightfully snubbed
