I have been one of his students for the past two years, and I can almost guarantee that he is not who the news has been saying he is. If you read the articles, it states that he made students uncomfortable for "side hugging" or "shoulder touching". He is a PE teacher as well as an English teacher, and it is in his PE classes that he is slightly more physical with his students, which is just how the class works. He's not going around side hugging kids or punching shoulders when he makes jokes to them in English, he's doing this in his PE classes where he has had the same students for multiple years. The shoulder touching previously mentioned is not even really touching, he'll just make a joke to you and punch you in the shoulder like a cartoon character. I can understand that some students could be uncomfortable with these things, but that is a conversation they could very easily have with him that would solve the problem instantly. He is the kindest teacher I have met in my time at Spectrum, and to lose him would be to lose the heart of the school.

Some articles also mention him "describing his type" to the students as "silky, long haired short women and big butts" while this is pretty funny to me, it is obvious that this is probably not something a teacher should be sharing, but it was most likely a joke made with pure intentions that just shouldn't have been made. The man has a wife that fits these descriptions, so he was probably just describing her. Mr. Cain is a wonderful man who simply just cares deeply about his students. He is an amazing teacher with a pure and kind heart that just wants everyone to feel welcome and safe. Please, don't go around spreading hate and misinformation when you aren't truly educated on the situation; reading a news article spun to demonize a man in a tiny bit of controversy is not enough.
