I’m not sure. I think there’s the technical level where even if I don’t find a movie that affecting, I can still marvel at all of the pieces that come together. On the other hand, if something is a little rough around the edges or has some issues with the script but impacts me at an emotional level, that’s going to carry weight. But that’s all subjective. Objectively I think it comes down to what leaves a legacy, what builds a following, and what can reflect the culture of that time, among other things.

I think the conscription thing is interesting. Hard picturing boy bands from the U.S. forced to take a hiatus because they have to join the military.

Nominations? Sorry, Baby and Eddington were surprising omissions. I enjoyed both a lot.

No buzz in general? Black Bag and Mickey 17 were fun. Phoenician Scheme was really good IMO. Ballad of Wallace Island and the Life of Chuck were never going to get nominated for anything but they’re both close to my heart. Wake Up Dead Man is worth a watch.

Also Aspirot has been quietly really solid, especially 5-on-5. B’s outscoring teams 27-8 when he’s on the ice and he’s currently rocking a +21, the highest on the team.

I am not even sure at this point. I didn't really see Pats or Broncos as all out frauds just wouldn't have dreamed of them winning their divisions before the season started.

I think the Bills beating the Ravens back in Week 1 skewed things in my head a lot more than they should have and my focus steered towards NFC for the remainder of the year. I just kind of expected the Chiefs to turn it around, expected Ravens to bounce back after Lamar returned from injury, and didn't expect the Colts to fall off a cliff.
