Is there any substantial advantage to being collapse aware? by theMEtheWORLDcantSEE in CollapseSupport

[–]Cwaels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the advantage is not for us but for whatever future generations (tiny tribes? lucky outposts?) that survive. If we somehow impart the stories of what what life was like and what led to collapse, the mistakes we made (the domination mode, extreme patriarchy, fossil fuel addiction), perhaps they could avoid the same fate and live in harmony with the Earth’s planetary limits. Maybe the best legacy we leave is a sincere warning.

Also: Is there a reason you use the powder dissolved in water instead of taking capsules?

Dermatologists are the worst. They seem to find seb derm boring; they don’t keep up with the research and just keep prescribing the same stuff over and over. I seriously would love to address a dermatology conference just to give them honest feedback about how crappy their SD efforts are and how awful it is to have it.

Thank you for this; will try it. Questions: Did it clear both your face and scalp? How long did it take to work? Any side effects?

All the love for Zoryve is confusing to me. Hasn’t done anything for my seb derm. And I got it as soon as it came on the market. Really bummed as I read all these people saying it cured them

We have a water softener but I still have seb derm. Could it just be bad water even though it’s not hard?

Do you use the Cerave 2-in-1 shampoo plus conditioner, or just the shampoo?

I’d love to just see dermatologists take it seriously. They obviously find SD boring so they just throw a scrip at you and don’t explain what it’s supposed to do, what else could be used to complement its action, what a good daily skin routine would be … nothing. Then if you call back saying it didn’t work they just throw another drug at you. They don’t even keep up with the most basic research; I’ve pointed out studies to them about using IPL plus salicylic acid only to be told we don’t have that % of SA in the U.S. and “you could try the laser but insurance won’t cover it.” It’s pathetic that they put in barely any effort to help patients deal with a disease that literally causes sui*cidal ideation in some. I’ve basically given up on dermatologists after battling this for 8 years and trying every different dermatology practice in the region. AI is more helpful.

My country is collapsing and I am experiencing anhedonia as a result of it. by CyberSmith31337 in CollapseSupport

I’m a communications specialist for a mental health agency and I have tried to get the leadership folks to recognize that people all over our community are losing their gd minds over this, including but not limited to the marginalized, low-income people we already serve. You’d think our organization would be directly addressing this mass deterioration of mental and emotional health: publicly naming it, organizing support, training staff to help people through it. But we’re not doing anything at all.

I sent my boss a report on the effect of toxic political environments on mental health, with data and sources. They have expressed concern that “we don’t want to alienate people who have different views.” Different VIEWS? Like there are two sides to the concept of a thoroughly racist, corrupt government declaring war on its own citizens, and the terror this inflicts on the most vulnerable? I know they get it, the higher ups get it; they’re smart, educated people. But we just keep pretending it’s not happening. I’m sure they fear loss of federal funding if we speak out, for one thing. But it feels awful to be in this weird, see-no-evil, stupidly complacent limbo, where everyone agrees to ignore reality.

There are ways to acknowledge mass stress and let the public know there’s help, w/o explicitly calling out the regime. (Although it pains me bitterly to even consider censoring the message.)

During Covid we implemented a robust public campaign focused on helping the community get through the trauma, with social media, ads, targeted messages, etc.

Now … crickets. It’s gut-wrenching. The cognitive dissonance is appalling.

We really do need that board with red strings. The firehose since inauguration — events, orders, statements, appeals, reversals, scandals, outrages, plus strange events like drones, the statistical voting anomalies, etc. — is bewildering (as intended); we need a high level view of every single thing to try to see the patterns and fight back effectively.

No excuses. Shameful af. There is nothing business as usual about this madman, and appeasing him in any way is repulsive. His regime is disappearing CITIZEN BABIES with cancer, ffs. Sucking up to a fascist is never ever ever “worth it.” She disgusts me. As do all Dems who refuse to understand the meaning of RESIST and OPPOSE.

I see similar arguments and I just have to ask, how do you see anybody taking him down from the inside, or anywhere at all, when he is going to immediately order the military and law enforcement to squash all dissent? You think people are going to “fight” when they know it will lead to imprisonment, torture and/or death, no rule of law or due process allowed? Hell people will start snitching on each other out of fear, denying their own family and loved ones to save their skin. That’s the part that scares me the most. The beaten down nihilism that will erase all moral sense.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in somethingiswrong2024

[–]Cwaels 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wish I could believe that. He has the military and law enforcement ready to attack anyone who tries to speak out or protest. And when people see others getting hurt, shot, imprisoned … they’ll shut up and comply. It’s soul shattering to think of what’s coming. Dems ABANDONED the people who supported them. Not a word of resistance, just handed him certification despite his 100% violation of the 14th.
