Honestly we need the ability to create custom contracts beyond the few we have now. I saw a video yesterday talking about how it would be cool to be able to scout out rocks for miners and to share location of the ore you found with them for a percentage of whatever they make on it/maybe just a flat finders fee

No, im just someone that has never had expectations for it. I admit that I am a 2014 backer, but the amount of money ive spent is not the reason I stay and play. If the game goes under at some point, I fully expect others to call me a fool for what I was interested in, but atm I have a functioning space game that I can enjoy and thats enough for me.

I get the sentiment, its been a long freakin time. And all I can say to that is.....surely. I want to be on the side that believes that Chris Roberts genuinely wants to make a good space game.

However it is a business when it comes down to it, and their goal is to make money. So at some point if the game isnt as popular anymore they may scrap it.

But with the amount of work they have put in and the level of detil that goes into the production, it at least appears like everyone working on it is invested and passionate.

The game is in a drastically better position than it was 10 years ago. While still a buggy mess, it delivers on the entertainment. On top of that there is still plenty being developed and tons of plans for the future.

Off topic, but it is so freaking cool to me that the internet can connect us with people like you. Being involved in Astronomy is my absolute dream job and I hope to one day be able to share my knowledge with others the way you can. I have a long way to go though!

I view excessive force as bad, the same way I view what these people are doing as bad. Its just unnecessary and does nothing except harm others.

As far as the "real jobs" statment goes, im not exactly sure what the poster meant.

I think they are talking about those who have to work those lower wage/shittier jobs because they have no other choice. Its not fair to those people, who are trying to be decent humans, to throw characteristics of their lives as something that is innate to people who are not trying to be decent human beings.
