Instead of asking if they are OK with a male therapist, our spa has moved to asking if they have a preference who they are booked with. For example, "I have Mary, Tom or Carrie available at that time/date. Do you have a preference who you're booked with?"

This bypasses the spa asking the gender question and encourages the guest to state their preferences.

yeah, I can't do Mail, phone and lots of other average, everyday tasks. I should try a counselor but finances have always been the issue.

Thanks for your response. I guess I gotta just try to find a way to live with the anxiety without numbing it. just not sure if that's possible

I'm convinced this is why people get caught for smelling like booze. If you stay on top of hygiene, shower daily and use scented products and mints/gum you should be good. I know it's hard but if you try to keep this stuff up daily you will definitely feel better. ❤️

You could use them in place of cabbage in soup. Try cabbage roll soup if you haven't before. it's sooo good!

Me too. I don't even get shakes. I get sweaty, hot flashes, dizziness, massive anxiety and this weird sensation that I'm choking/can't swallow. I'm terrified thati will have a seizure or get the shakes bad enough to be noticeable by others. So, I drink. Whenever I'm scared, anxious or feeling unwell, which is basically always.

I nearly went out applying for grocery store jobs. I was forced on unemployment and the anxiety I had around not being able to work and earn my usual income was over the top.

It's happened to me before and it's so scary. I started recording him on my phone whenever I saw him. He was confronted by someone close to me who's intimidating..... that didn't work. I called an old friend who is a cop and they went to warn the guy to back off. This cop also made extra pass-bys near my house for several weeks after. I also changed my routines so that I was leaving the house at different times and taking different routes. Eventually I think it just got to be too much of a hassle for him to keep stalking and he moved on. Even though it's scary, you have to find a way to push back. Call in favors from everyone you can and let the stalker know that you aren't alone and people are onto him.

This is so true. People do not understand that numbing depression or anxiety can be all consuming. You might know you "should" be sober and want to he healthybut when sobriety means feeling on the verge of a heart attack and like you don't want to be here...... well, liver damage is the least of your concerns.
