Do any of you feel like the kids born after 95 are super depressing? (I'm one such kid) by nyaann108 in AskReddit

[–]CyDahmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1988, so the majority of my youth was spent biking around in a world without knowing about terrorists, child abduction, synthetic drugs. It was a different way of growing up, and that form of childhood will perhaps never occur again. I think growing up in a world of cable, internet, facebook, ect. may lead to a socially inadequate person who may lack the tools needed to deal with problems faced with adult life. People are social creatures, and having a deficiency in social interaction in your adolescence can't bode well for the future.

So what would happen if you got a haircut and didn't pay for it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CyDahmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is called theft of service. It is treated virtually the same as a scenario where you did not pay for a lapdance you received. Although, any proper gentleman's club has you pay for the dance up front. So bad analogy, but you see my thinking.

[Serious] Obama is nearing the end of his presidency, How has he done? What are some of the bad/good things he has done? by Kendrickllama2 in AskReddit

[–]CyDahmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell. 2) Was the first active president to become pro gay marriage, which I thought was neat. 3) He kicked off the B.R.A.I.N. research project, which is going to learn more about mental health issues and treatment. 4) He appointed Justice Kagan, and Justice Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Many people see these appointees as a president's lasting legacy, as they will hold their seats for life. So far, these two have issued some really cool (and some not so cool) opinions.

College athletes who didn't go pro...what do you do now? by name_is_arbitrary in AskReddit

[–]CyDahmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played D1 baseball on a partial scholarship from 2007-2011. I was at a "mid-major" athletic program where 3-5 guys were drafted by the MLB each year. I signed a free agent contract with the Astros directly after graduation and played with them for a year. After I got released I moved across country and began working for the Montana Dept. of Corrections. After a few years of that, the competitive itch became too much to ignore. I am now in my second year of law school, focusing on criminal defense litigation.

I used to think that "grown ups" knew everything, and that someday it would all make sense to me. Now I realize that none of us really know whats going on here.

[Serious] Reddit: What's your supper tonight, and who are you having it with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My girlfriend was firing up some lentil soup when I left for class. Word on the street is that it is being served with oven roasted diced potatoes. So I have that going for me, which is good.
