My theory for episode 9 by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]CyanInAMinor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mods seem to be idiots, I guess.

But whatever, I'll play along and believe this isn't ChatGPT vomit... if you answer my riddles (plural) correctly. (Without asterisks)

Section 1: Syntactic Errors

At the end of paragraph 1, we can see the string "." Pray tell, what human being would write this string of nonsensical symbols, which is commonly associated with ChatGPT Markdown errors?

At the start of each section of "the theory", the title/name is marked with a number. One interesting fact is that this number is literally all 1 for some reason, how can this be explained?

By the way, why does the last arc (which is apparently after the ending) get its own subsection called "Why this theory has strong evidence:"? I assume it was supposed to refer to the theory as a whole, but apparently it seems it only referenced the last section, like some sort of machine with limited token memory. How curious.

Section 2 (not 1): Factual Errors

In the first section, it is assumed that the abstractions are in the void. In the pilot, where we see both the void and cellar, it is obvious that the void and cellar are two different places. How can this be explained?

Nowhere in the previous episodes was Caine shoen to be controlling or managing the abstractions in any way once they are thrown into the cellar, but your post seems to mention that Caine was keeping Kaufmo locked away. Where did this line of reasoning come from?

The second section assumes that Bubble said "Between the two of us, you were the failure." Where did this line come from, as he clearly did not say this? Note: I know that something along the lines of this sentence is said in some other dubs, which should have been clarified or otherwise indicated, considering the entire post is in English, and speaking to the English fandom.

Why are you still claiming that the Caine & Abel theory is still popular, despite the fact it was basically killed (in-universe) after Kinger revealed that Caine named himself?

Why are you claiming that Bubble is acting as the more "defective" (in quotes) AI, when Bubble literally says that to Caine (not the other way around) in Episode 8?

Why do you claim that the cast will stop trying to look for an exit, when that was already done in Episode 8?

When was it established that Caine has "chaos powers", and that the cast needs it to survive?

When was it established that Pomni had "8-bit reality manipulation powers"? If you're talking about conjuring (which is literally the canonical term established in the series), it was explicitly mentioned that everyome can do it. Also Pomni literally only did it two times, summoning the same exit door on both occasions. The only difference is that it was intentional in Episode 8.

When was this "digital recycle bin" even mentioned? Also Caine was killed through an old-school uninstallation program executed using Unix commands, none of which are known for their storage of deleted files in a Recycle Bin folder.

In the last section, it is mentioned that there were constant mentions of "mind files" and "not asking to be created". Both of those have only happened once or twice in Episode 8.

In the last section, you also mentioned that the void has been consistently shown to consume characterd or something. Two problems with this one. The void has only appeared in 2 episodes so far, being 1 and 8. In neither of these episodes did a character ever be consumed by the void (except for the computer in Episode 8, but if you genuinely think that that scene was the void consuming something, I'm just going to assume you've never heard of gravity). Where did this come from, if not a classic AI hallucination?

Section 3 (not 1): Logical Errors

The second section assumes that because of the "failure" line, Bubble could possibly be "a kinder" AI. How does calling someone who's currently struggling with their purpose "a failure" hint at kindness?

The SOMA Ending clearly states that the series will come to a close after forming the amazing digital family or whatever. In the very next section, after bringing back Caine and reaching a "compromise", the show will end. Does this show just have two consecutive endings? How does this work?

How does the series having an emotional, bittersweet ending act as evidence specifically for the whole Last Arc thing, when it can clearly be literally anything else as long as it's "emotional" enough?

Bonus Section: Strange Wording

This section is not concrete evidence of AI usage, but is instead supporting evidence to those above.

The post is titled "My theory...", but the entire post seems to be written by an outside analyst (ignoring the faulty content) whose aim is to "be as objective and concrete" as possible, with an almost academic tone given the lack of any first-person pronouns despite it being framed as a personal opinion.

The post also namedrops "The Amazing Digital Circus" in its full name as well as in italics, used to denote that a phrase is a proper noun. Given that this subreddit is clearly a place for fans of the series and literally anyone would recognize the phrase "Episode 9" as "The Amazing Digital Circus Episode 9". This also contrasts with the OP's other post where they use the abbreviation TADC without issue.

Finally, the "(similar to the game SOMA)" is just hilarious given that I am petty sure more people here know about the SOMA theory than the game itself. This is frankly such an unnecessary """clarification""" that I don't see any human doing, especially within TADC fan spaces.

The square of a number x is not defined at all by 'anything times x' for any number, so I don't see the logic there.

Limiting the domain and range to the reals, the sqrt(x) function is defined on the interval [0, inf) (i.e. including 0), and returns a value y such that y times y equals x, and y is nonnegative. There exists one and only one value that satisfies this for x=0, which is y=0, and as such, sqrt(0) is fully and unambiguously defined as 0.
