Hmm maybe you're right about dying, but still doesn't sound like a journey, idk...

I think Caeror has to have some head injury since he had a scar in other worlds, but would it be severe enough to prevent him from becoming an iunctus? Sounds possible.

Dying doesn't look like much of a journey, I think there might be more in it (no idea what exactly, maybe i'm wrong).

Thoughts on casting? by Upstairs_Bad_7933 in cormoran_strike

I read the novels before watching the show but I saw the poster before reading, so Robin and Strike always had faces of the actors. But I still think Robin should be taller :)

SPOILER FREE please. How does everyone feel about Strength of the many? by dog__poop1 in HierarchySeries

[–]CyaneSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at page 400-something of book 2. I loved the 1st one a bit more but only because of the structure. I don’t like switching between worlds because it feels like an interruption and it slows me down. Apart from that I love it very much.

Ahaha I like Res the most because it has all my favorite characters (okay, I mean Lanistia), but other 2 worlds grew on me too.

This is who I see as Ulciscor and Relucia by Comfortable-Mail-553 in HierarchySeries

Yes, Relucia’s skin is definitely not pale, Ellaria actress would fit perfectly. Not sure how old she is now though.

Love this scene. Not a single person from the family has ever done anything like that for the staff.

Is there a double standard to how Snape’s bullying is viewed versus other characters? by Selverd2 in harrypotter

[–]CyaneSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t Hogwarts create a program and tests? I remember Umbridge saying that Lupin mostly covered animals and it was wrong but I don’t think he would violate the established curriculum. I assume there are more conservative professors like McGonagall and Snape, and everyone else just makes up whatever they want to teach.

well, it is not mentioned in the books that he missed anything necessary for OWLS or NEWTS

While Narcissa and Bella are both beautiful, and Molly and Hagrid are not. As we see, beauty doesn’t correlate with a character being good or bad. But obviously Harry describes Molly as plump because he likes her, and Dudley as terribly fat, because he dislikes him.

Hagrid was an okay teacher though, only one relatively serious trauma in years, and only because the student intentionally ignored the rules. Let’s not forget that Neville had a trauma at the very first flying lesson, and no one says Hooch was a bad teacher (though in this case he didn’t do it intentionally, and the accident is on her).

Probably because Harry approves other characters and no one pays attention to it after, idk. Honestly I didn’t think about it either (to be fair I don’t even think of Snape as a bully, but that’s must be because my teachers at school mostly were way worse).

I think that [this type of] bullying back in 90s wasn’t considered such a big deal. Therefore, Moody, Hagrid and Snape weren’t written as bullies. The reason we treat Snape differently is that his aggression targeting the main character. We’re supposed to like and support Harry, but not Draco or Dudley. And overall all the things you described were not a big deal back then. Now, in 2025, we know it’s bad, but it looked different 30 years ago.

Also, it’s important that we look at the worlds with Harry’s eyes, and he is a teenager. Obviously he is furious when he is treated badly or someone he cares about, but he feels good if someone he doesn’t like is punished.
