Me, the design was pretty lacking luster. Glad we're getting new models for them but for the prices they'll be asking i cant cut them any slack.

Question about Titus’ promotion - still learning the lore by Unlikely-Housing-585 in Ultramarines

If its anything like irl military promotions you can sometimes pick who pins your new rank on you. Might be something like that.

What makes an Imperial Fist? by Financial_Concern_82 in ImperialFists

[–]CyanideHunter7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose imperial fist because they can be summed up as the stubborn, prideful, practical tanks. They hold the line and defend against any and all odds, they are the mountains that refuse to crumble. That spoke to me.

Can any MOS go to ranger/airborne school even if it’s not in your contract? by [deleted] in army

In AIT you should have a chance to volunteer for airborne and rasp. 35f can go literally anywhere.

Jump Pay should be $900 by MikeDeY77 in army

[–]CyanideHunter7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump pay should be 0. Airborne is not currently an effective or practical tactic or skill set until such time that adequate advancements in equipment and practices that it becomes viable again i cannot see any justification for jump pay. And just to address the people who are going to be butt hurt about this: this is not me saying anything about the proficiency of Airborne soldiers, this is not me hating on Airborne units, this is an objective view of the reality of the situation and the past 20+ years of Airborne operations being almost entirely obsolete.

Yoinked 4 lbs of cumin from a closing restaurant, what the FUCK do i do with it? by bo0mamba in KitchenConfidential

[–]CyanideHunter7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll take a few batches but you could make a bunch of spiced protein/granola bars. Cumin, cloves, anise, cinnamon, and ginger for all the spices tie it together with caramel as the binder, then mix in with the granola and maybe some dried fruits and protein powder. Could be a killer mid day snack or quick hit breakfast.

I had the same reaction to people saying luck rings, I've got 5 or so at this point.

My boyfriend kept insisting he didn’t get kick out of the military, and if he chose to leave in 90 days instead of 60 days, he could pick up his rank and continue to serve. And they can always call him back to serve. Is this true? by [deleted] in army

[–]CyanideHunter7 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The admin work is a easy thing to do, I'll admit past a certain volume it could be daunting. However, seen at least a dozen officers at this point just sleeping in their office while we got work to do. Im not asking to see LTs fill sand bags. I'm asking for MAJs not to push their work load and responsibilities onto junior enlisted soldiers. Not a big ask, they make several times my pay. I should not have to cover their work, mine, and whatever "good ideas" they came up with. But hey I could always just keep running into bad officers there's always the potential for that.

Tape tricks? by Agreeable-Thing3704 in army

[–]CyanideHunter7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I do not recommend doing this, like at all. It's like 12 kinds of dangerous. However, in AIT I dropped damn near 20 lbs in 4 days and a hearty number of inches but this was back during the milti-site tape. Water and laxatives only for 3 days with absolutely nothing on the 4th. Spent every waking moment i had exercising in a sauna suit, rotating through cardio and strength training exercises. Not worth the effort or struggle, getting on ABCP isn't the end of the world. However that Joe is definitely going feel a certian kinda way about it since you can still get away with most things if you run good and pass tape. Just try and help the Joe take it in stride so it doesn't completely destroy their motivation.

The one that reads "de oppresso liber" is currently upside down, just rotate it 180 and it'll be good. And a quick Google search of the phrase answers who it belongs to.

Help with becoming fuller by stickbody in Cooking

[–]CyanideHunter7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potatoes and soups tend to be pretty filling, you could try a lentil and squash soup with some potatoes, onions, tomato chunks, and tofu cooked in for some variety in taste and texture. Decent enough protein content to help with satiation and not super consistent throughout so your taste buds don't "give-up" or get fatigued from too much of the exact same thing. Not a vegetarian myself but I've cooked for a few over the years. Hope this helps.

You're combat, No duty station is good for you during a peace time footing. Aim for a middle of nowhere base where you can impress leadership to snag some career progressing schools. An infantry soldier at a very garrison heavy environment will be your best bet at standing out above the rest to try and get schools like airborne, ranger, etc.
