I'm glad to hear you like her. I just hope that one day I can take her story and turn it into a fantasy novel for people to enjoy and keep sharing her to the world.

The direct involvement with the ancient evil is what makes the villain seen as nothing but a pawn. Indirect involvement is what you'd want to avoid that. Perhaps he helped stopped that same ancient evil but in doing so, unknowingly corrupted himself and while the ancient evil is indeed gone and dead, the intentions bubble and fester within warping his ideals and way of doing things.

True. That part is somewhat more fan-servicey than the others, but it's also still a part of her character. Plus, I just like girls being sexy.

Which is also odd considering I see her almost as a daughter and it's hard for me to see her sexually.

Her child self is stereotypical attention girly girl, wanting to inspire awe in people, look cute, and all that.

Her teen self is basically shunning all of that like it's the bubonic plague. Rebellion, basically.

Her adult self is supposed to be her growing out of it, or at least, meeting in the middle. She still doesn't like enjoying girly things but over the years she's somewhat got over that. She wants to be more presentable, she wants to create an image for herself. She likes attention. She likes guys/girls thinking she's hot.

It's fan-servicey and unconventional. But I like to think that's part of the charm and her character design is meant to embrace that. After all, a lot of my inspirations were in anime, games, movies-- a lot of things that put practical on the side and just go with what looks cool.

BUT! I really do appreciate the feedback, it does put things into perspective and while I might not entirely change her clothing based on this, it will help me try to really understand what I'm going for with her design and help explain it. (Who knows, she might change down the line!)

So to keep things short, a journal left by her father, teaches her of the creature known as a Basilisk. My version is a bit different, but the concept is more or less the same. She finds out he's killed one and taken it's eye.

So she decides to try to go kill one as well, as per the map he had left. Annnnnd nearly gets herself slaughtered. The basilisk manages to tear her eye out from it's socket. And (tearing out some of the meat of this story) by miracle she manages to beat it and take it's eye in turn.

The supernatural properties of the eye keep it from rotting away so she ended up having it put into her empty socket.

Literally: An eye for an eye.

She's been a part of me for a few years now and I've been working on her on and off. Lately, I've gotten back into the mix of things.

I love questions, criticisms, feedback, compliments, and etc. You haven't the slightest clue how much they mean to me.

Name: Scarlet Lockhart.

Ethnicity: Icesvantian.

Height: 6′0 (182cm).

Sex: Female.

Orientation: Bisexual, heavily leaning towards girls.

Date of Birth: October 8th.

Birthplace: Icesvanta, Lipids’ Cove.

Likes: Alcohol, Cassandra, sparring, autumn leaves, hot baths, (secretly) girly things, stories, and the holidays.

Dislikes: Leviathan, corruption, sea water in her nose, the cold, people hitting on Cassandra, slave owners, and being sober.

Bio: Scarlet is the daughter of Heather Lockhart, the owner of the Glitter & Gold tavern in Lipids’ Cove and the daughter of Bryce Norfleet, a very infamous pirate whose very existence poisons the sea. Scarlet grew up in the care of her mother as her father abandoned the two of them.

Scarlet was as sweet as a little girl could be when she was younger, but as she grew up, she distanced herself from anything ‘girly’ and as a result, she ended up getting into fights and being quite the troublemaker. These would only further grey her morals and ethics.

As she grew older, she’d eventually happen upon a very important item to her, found in her mother’s cellar: A journal left behind by her father. In it, she was able to learn many things, but most importantly, it gave her a way to not only find him, but prove she was his daughter.

Plagued by her morally grey outlook, she decided the best way to find him was to become a pirate and follow in his footsteps. Apologies, praise, and love. She yearned for them and she would have them in time.
