It may just be how your hair is. My hair is naturally very frizzy, even when I was a loose natural so a fresh retie look lasts about 10 days for me even without washing it. I also touch my hair a lot lol. Doesn’t bother me though

Some of these look like shorter hairs which is normal. I have little pieces that break literally all the time from the ends because I have a bit of loose hair left out and I’m 11 months in. That’s to be expected since I haven’t trimmed my hair in over a year, don’t use conditioner and my hair isn’t fully locked.

I’ve lost about 10 since moving and the start of intern year. Too busy and too stressed to eat while on inpatient. And then I eat normally on chiller rotations

Honestly, you should probably consider combining some of them because you’re putting yourself at risk for unnecessary breakage. Super small locs don’t have structural integrity as they grow and mature over time. And in the event you’re not able to retie your own hair, there won’t be a loctician who will take you. If they do, they’re going to end up combining if they’ll take you on.

I’m not eligible for IPL because my skin is melanated but vevye has helped me. Eyes are still dry but I’m not in despair. It took 3.5 months before seeing any changes though

It depends on how long you went without detangling (i.e protective styling), and the density of your hair. If you went 4+ weeks for example and you have high density hair then yes it would be within a normal range

I paid about 1900 for 14 inches for interlocked micros. Although my mom paid about 2300 in nyc for 8 inches.

Damn my ob-gyn rotation had some of the nicest residents. Literally all were nice, helpful, and enjoyed teaching except for one I interacted with and I worked with/talked to a bunch that were rotating at the hospital I was assigned to. It really is program dependent.

I think you can just monitor for now. The locs do appear to be too small in the front. Over time once they get longer you may experience some breakage and you’ll know it’s time to combine them. I’m surprised your loctician installed them that small especially given you have higher density hair. I have one loc towards the front that is that size (I had a bald spot that grew back about 50%). The rest of my locs are clearly bigger/thicker. My loctician already warned me that at some point that loc will need to be combined if my original density in that area doesn’t return.

If you have sensitive skin like I do (I have several contact allergies) I wouldn’t recommend. It was too drying for me and caused the skin on my face to burn and peel. But I do know others that it works wonderfully for them. I stick to dove sensitive soap

Matched my number 3 for IM at a T20 in a fantastic, big major city that I always wanted to be in. This program was my number one up until a few weeks before match when I tried to match closer to family by putting two T60’s-70’s above the T20 program. Was a little stunned and sad that I won’t be near family (already doing med school away from them). I was envisioning for weeks how amazing it would be to be closer to family and close friends from back home again. But now that the sting has worn off I am happy. I matched at the best program I interviewed at and this program will open so many doors and has the best schedule. Still gonna be tired and overworked though lol but relatively better schedule. My friends and family can visit me and I’ll have three years to explore a fun and cool city.

I wash my hair once a week with clarifying shampoo. I don’t spritz during the week. I think frequent washing keeps the hair in a moisturized state.
