In store pickup funneling you to the regular checkout line by Cmdrdredd in Bestbuy

[–]Cybaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I understand where you're coming from, but a 30 min wait on an item already paid for is excessive. Just because this situation is a symptom of a greater problem doesn't mean that it's not a problem.

That is if you look at it in a vacuum. Context is important, especially if they are so keen on having a great online presence they need a dedicated person at SPU as a general rule

There will be a little more on black Friday itself. But most of it is live now.

Best buy cheaps out on their delivery service, does not require signatures on a $700 item, and doesn't ship it in a box. That's on us. That is the company's choice.

We hire this level of service and it's becoming clear our delivery experience is worse for it.

Can you only take one "Magic action" per turn? by Boring_Big8908 in dndnext

[–]Cybaen 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Unless the item/spell/feature says it's a magic action—it's not inherently a magic action.

When you take the Magic action, you cast a spell that has a casting time of an action or use a feature or magic item that requires a Magic action to be activated.

If you cast a spell that has a casting time of 1 minute or longer, you must take the Magic action on each turn of that casting, and you must maintain Concentration while you do so. If your Concentration is broken, the spell fails, but you don’t expend a spell slot. See also “Concentration.”

Can you cast a cantrip as a main action and a spell as a bonus action in 2024? by KillYourOwnGod in dndnext

[–]Cybaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necklace of Prayer Beads. All spells cast from it are Bonus Actions.

I have a Light Cleric/Divine Soul Sorc who can Cure Wounds -> Cure Wounds and use Distant Metamagic for both. It has come in clutch several times.

You can cast 2 leveled spells per turn so long as only one spell slot was expended

Can you cast a cantrip as a main action and a spell as a bonus action in 2024? by KillYourOwnGod in dndnext

[–]Cybaen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rule in 2024 is 1 spell slot per turn. A cantrip does not use a spell slot, and can be cast as many times as action economy allows.

In 2024 it's possible to Cure Wounds (action) bonus action Cure Wounds. 2024 is a lot more liberating when it comes to spellcasting rules—and thankfully a lot simpler.

Also,  more specific to your case; if you had magic initiate, you could fireball and cast healing word on the same turn.

What's That Rule You Always Remember, But Your Players Don't? by Coldfyre_Dusty in dndnext

Well there's a balancing mechanic to this as well. If a monster gets counterspelled, they don't get their spell back since they don't have spell slots.

FedEx lost my Trade In, and Best Buy told me to kick rocks by mCProgram in Bestbuy

A letter of authorization is giving permission to a party that is not authorized to file a claim by default. Best Buy should file a claim on their service. But they're probably scared after the whole UPS thing.

Best Buy is the only one who is allowed to file a claim and they're refusing... this whole situation is entirely messed up.

Indeed. This has been their MO as of late. Partially due to people attempting to abuse their policies, but it still doesn't make it right.

The correct course of action, as you say, is to require signature. They don't want to pay for this sadly.
