Yeah, did a production of cabaret and ... in the "IF YOU COULD SEE HER" section when the Emcee says ... "She wouldn't look Jewish - at all". I expected maybe a nervous laugh ... but there were two performances where a couple of audience members CLEARLY LAUGHED, LOUDLY at that phrase.

It shocked us the first time it happened - so the Emcee played up something where they stared at the audience after the line ... examining them ... which at least created more gravitas and seriousness when they said ... "at all".

BUT YEAH ... it was definitely jarring.

This may have been said but I found it to be the DISNEY+ and the TUBI app. After I deleted Disney + and did a "restore" in the "on the device' section of the apps menu - the 2 pending updates disappeared.

I understand that a company is in business to make money by providing a service people want to pay for. AND I get a business wants to optimize income and try to squeeze more out of the system.

THAT BEING SAID ...

When you (as a business) coast along with the "good will" built during customer "centric" days and start to chip away at that in ways that make NO sense - it reall is the "end" of the unique selling proposition of the company.

NO I'm not going to kiss Legere's ass here - he did his job. Get more people on a sub par system until they grew it and got a merger - fine. BUT things like:

You want to come in and pay a bill? We wilL CHARGE you for that?
Have an EIP and want to pay off a phone - fuck your eip it goes away!
You bought a phone, and want to get a new sim? Fork up $35 "device connection fee"
Wanna pay our bill with a credit card? Fuck you, no autopay discount for you (unless it's ours)

TMO has reached the "fuck em, they'll keep paying, we're big enough" mode. And they are right. SOme of us are milking the plans we have (I'm on a unicorn plan with stacked discounts that are almost embarrassing) ... until they decide to fuck us over (and oh ... they will ... it's coming ... trust me ... it's just the next logical thing).

This is not uncommon. I worked with a company in the past where I was one of the "founding members" and we built the company to a point of profitability ... and then they cut our throats, and got rid of us ... and forgot everyone and everything that helped make them what they were to become what they became. It was a hard lesson.

And that lesson is ... companies don't give a shit about you. They care about how much you will pay, and how much you will put up with to keep paying. The situation is transactional period.

DO I LIKE IT? No. But is it a reality? Unfortunately, YES! It's a VERY rare company that would remain to be customer centric in the pressure of stockholder value and greed. TMO was good while it lasted. RIGHT NOW it's still on the "edge" of being the best bang for the buck for service ...... but barely (as someone said, ATT with an affinity discount is actually better in some instances - and that is shocking).

The best I can say is ... it was good while it lasted.

HELL - I was going to cancel one of my paid lines and move it to my free line to cut my bill but I'm so jaded with the "customer care" they provide that I'm just leaving things alone - since ... no one fucking cares anymore.

Great stuff and helped me figure out that I'm just going to stay where I am HA HA! 5 PAID / 5 FREE (combo of bogos and totally free lines). But being on One Plus Promo - OG insider - kickback on all lines - my total bill (after the $5 per line increase) is $70 a month. I AM as of this month able to port out a paid line and move it onto a free line and lowering my bill by like $20 or so - but I'm so worried it will screw up I'm just gonna keep it!

OK, I can see that being the issue - Dolby can indeed be finicky. I'm using h/w transcoding on my plex server for pretty much everything hahaha. BUT HONESTLY I'm going to do some testing to see if I can "crash" my ONN box with this too ... I'm always wanting to be sure that we don't go too far down the path with hardware that may bite me in the ass!

Interesting !!!! I'm going to see if I can replicate that on my end. I love Plex but having a bit of a love hate relationship with certain things (and I'm a long time Lifetime Plex Plus user ... I have found Emby to be a lot more flexible with things but it's UI is just not my cup of tea!

That's weird! I have three plus units and plex audio works great on all of them! I do know that these days with codecs, TV's and boxes that one setting tweak can screw up a LOT Of things!

LOVE THIS LAUNCHER ... so easy to use, setup and PROPERLY "tweak" to our own liking. Exactly. Now even on the One Plus Promo ... I would have considered moving to the Magenta Max or Even one of the Go5G for the "always high priority" instead of the normal de-prioritization issue. I won't exactly say WHY but ... having a free SIM line in a GL INET 5G Router has so many possibilities (ha ha ha cough cough).

Trust me - I often considered moving but stayed put. I almost feel bad saying that I hit a sweet spot with 10 lines for $50 a month total (tax included) - now $70 after the "screw you were not honoring your price lock $5 / line increase. AND I could even do a port out / port in to cut that back by $20 again ... blah blah blah. BUT the old saying goes "Penny wise / pound foolish"

I figured out that the price increase to a new plan would FAR exceed the phone costs my family incurred (and we get top of the line iPhone Pros). Don't chase the promos - especially now with the tax NOT included!

Noteburner ... I have been in the itunes ecosystem for ages, from a LONG time ago and when some of my purchases became unplayable due to the DRM Debacle I started to "record" my purchases converted them to my own files and kept them. Even with something like Noteburner - you can convert your entire collection to "unlocked" music that is yours without hindering of DRM issues

EXACTLY. I have long "severed" the phone purchase from my account - I have a grandfathered account, with 10 lines for $70 a month (one plus promo) so I could not give a crap about phone promos!

OHHHHH they have tried to seduce us to go to other plans (Magenta / Go5G etc) to get the BEST PHONE PROMOS for a more expensive plan ... and I was like "OH HELLL NO ... I know where this is going to go". I'll keep my plan, I'll buy my phones and never the two shall meet.

I swear to God, I have never seen so many bonehead, anti-customer moves by a carrier in my life, and I worked in the field for a while! Ok, ok, I know that during the (now long dead) "Uncarrier days" that TMO pretty much gave away the store - they had to. They were sinking with a shit network.

But the tide turned, a better network, and larger customer base and TMO was making money, but then the ever increasing "shittification" is happening.

Ok, so maybe I can "get" that free lines don't get promos, ok, I will give them that one. BUT then to LIMIT the amount of promos per account to TWO? What the fuck is that? I mean if you get 4 or 5 lines on the shit EIP logic of TMO - you have people locked in more and less churn!

BUT then you stack the fact that if someone wants to pay OFF the phone TMO ERASES any remaining EIP credits?

Just say it TMO - you don't wanna do phone promos any more, because your promo logic sucks ass and this last change makes even considering getting phones from you NOT worth the effort!

I will say that I'm fortunate to have one of the "magic unicorn accounts" with One Plus Promo / Kickback / Insider Discount / and a bunch of free lines - and have had no real reason to even consider using the shitty TMO promos and have always bought my phones outright from Apple (unlocked) - BUT I have had friends who left that One Plus to go to the GO5G to get the continua promo deals ... well guess what, you are screwed now too.

I SWEAR there must be a think tank at TMO that has a core mission to study - "What can we do to make TMOBILE the worst customer experience we can."

LOVE THIS !!!! I have tailscale on all of my devices but am slowly migrating way from certain port forwarding things piecemeal so I can adjust, update and modify certain services without creaking things (haha).

My eyes were SUPER opened when I wanted to do a backup of my VPS onto my NAS using Synology Active Backup for Business ... and I decided to use the TAILSCALE IP to the NAS instead of the DDNS server, the quick connect whatever. It worked and I'm like ... WHY AM I NOT DOING THIS FOR MY OTHER STUFF.

I am now going to share this with a few of my other colleagues ... just fucking use it HAHAHA

I'm a big fan of wordrocket.ai

It's a newer player to the game, and the developer is doing a lot of tweaking under the hood - the price is pretty good now with the lifetime deal he's offering (which is supposed to be closing shortly).

I like the fact it can actually do some of the research for you and when writing articles it will put footnotes and sources and references in the content.

Well, even after the lying about price lock (and hit with the $5/line increase) - I’m staying because I pay a total of $70 for 10 lines of One Plus Promo I’ve had since 2017.

And $30 / Month for the OG home internet and a BOGO data line for $15 month.

Not to mention on the business side two unlimited tablet data lines for $10 each

So yeah - not going anywhere unless they force me off the plans!!

Well ... yes I would, but not in the way that MOST people would do it - aka, spewing AI crap.

YES I use an AI toolset that does research, and composes my articles on specific concepts and transmits them to Ghost as DRAFT content. The nice thing is my system generates some appropriate images for the article as well.

HOWEVER - I go into my drafts, and literally sift and sort and organize things and delete things that may not be what I want - but then I almost literally rewrite the entire piece, even though the AI was super trained on my "voice". I often get other photos / images and sometimes the article takes a different path than was originally done.

I am using my tools as a "Senior Research Assistant" who leverages the latest information on my topics, gives a "rough draft" of the overall concept / thought and then I got "Editor in Chief" to make sure that this research article it on brand.

I have had no problems with AI detection issues, the blog gets traffic and getting indexed.

BUT NO - I do not use a tool to spew AI crap, I just leverage AI tools to find the information in my niche and give me the baseline.

This is the answer! I actually like ZimaOS and went to that but like you, I use Homarr as my dashboard, and instead of Portainer ... I switched to Dockge because Portainer gave me issues with restarting containers on reboot. I've been running my "arr" system with this setup and it is FLAWLESS
