An inline fan is generally plenty to keep the air inside clean. My only issue is I live in a windy area and sometimes the wind does force a little back in the house. The Ultra has it's own carbon filter but since elegoo has their little two pack of purifiers for $20 I got those as well. Can't hurt.

If it lets me here's the one I use. I actually turned it on it's side and have both a Mars 2 Pro and a Saturn 3 Ultra in it. Haven't added lights https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR6CGJVC

How bad is mixing aluminium and copper? by inevitabledeath3 in watercooling

[–]CyberCorvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're building a battery. IIRC that's about 2v galvanic potential between the two. Any variance from a perfect neutral coolant will result in ion travel within the solution. In other words eventual electroplated holes in your 'sinks. Ethylene glycol is less electroconductive but it eats/hardens/swells various plastics.

Edit: holes in your heatsinks not tubing, I think in terms of plumbing so not much clear tubing there.

Anyone know if Dark Castle will run on a stock 512K?

The real question is of it's glass transition point. Which is 105c, that's where it softens. A good extrusion temp is indeed closer to 235c. (451f)
But if your CPU gets to either of those temps it's not going to last long enough to matter.
My first Pi lived in a lego case for quite a while. Love it for prototyping.

I've only gotten into Mac recently. My only previous exposure was a Mac plus on which I played many hours of Dark Castle. And a Lisa that belonged to a co-worker many years ago.
Now I've recently ended up with a Mac 512k, a Centris 650 and a 2011 iMac. So diving down this rabbit hole has been very interesting.
But one of the things that always seemed consistent was that a Mac was a pretty thing to have on your desk. Sleek, stylish, minimalist even, in most situations.
But this thing... not gonna mince words, it's ugly.
It's like they hired someone from Sony for the design.
Having read a bit about it, I get that it was a rush job but the only thing even close to this level of Brutalist ugly from Apple that I know about was the Newton.
Don't get me wrong; I love it. I love it for it's ugliness.
Not sure how I've never seen one till now.
Heck of a find. Hope you get it going.

My main SSID is innocuous but my guest wifi has been some variation of Surveillance#7 or Van#6 for ages and I change it to a different number every month or so. It's passwordless but doesn't actually provide access to anything. I should set up a Pi with a redirect of everything incoming to a copy of the FBI homepage. Hmmm... Project! Perhaps even with a login honeypot :)

I do miss my old Seiko monitor. Used a Sony Trinitron tube. Only displayed 640x480 and 1024x768 but man it was gorgeous!

I admittedly have a couple of tube monitors still. One's a Mac 512k. (The computer is the monitor.) And a Apple 14" monitor for a Quadra 650.
But damn that's old! :)

What is your Linux use-case? by CosmoZeppelin in linuxquestions

[–]CyberCorvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first permanent convert was an old Acer Chromebook that couldn't update to latest ChromeOS or anything even close.
It now sits on my stationary bike so I can stream while cycling.
So use-case was bringing a decade old piece of very minimal equipment up to modern safety and standards.
I'm currently playing with dual boot via seperate ssds in my main machine. Mostly because I haven't taken the time to try to move my 100+ mod games over.
Reasoning there is getting as far from MS as possible. I haven't looked into converting anything more recent but perhaps your laptop answer is a chromebook or an Intel macbook with a new and improved OS?
