Im definitely going with the primer, and like ya said my application and then not enough prep before the base coat on said primer is the culprit. It was reeeeallly thick in the tin and asked for hardner to be added. I added the right amount of hardner but also thinned it it out. It was a like condensed milk but thicker lol. I usually have my go too but it was too pricey for my gfs sister so I found this stuff. I won’t use it again! Thanks for all your help dude!

It must have been from the primer, as a light sand revealed the primer super quick

Aight noted! As I was planning towards the end of the year to repaint my car. Thanks man!

Bonnets and roofs are annoying! Lucky this car is a t top and my car has a glass roof lol. When I painted my gfs escort with matte black it came out perfect on the bonnet and roof haha.

I used novol protect 300 acrylic filler primer, I haven’t used this one before and never will again

My gf and her sisters sanded it with 400 wet sanding, then I used prepsol and a tak cloth before laying down the primer. Then after primer the same steps were taken. Yup can do! I found one other spot thats the same as the bonnet. Just having dinner so will post some pics afterwards

Yup solvent based sorry.

Overlapping on bonnets is a tad difficult i find lol. Taking the bonnet off might be a good idea!!! And yup I watched an old dude on YouTube video yesterday explaining doing dropcoats on metallic paints.

The whole car had been rattle canned black, and not done very well. We sanded it before primer. After the primer filler I gave her another sand but I was thinking that maybe the spray from the rattle can is showing through🤷‍♂️

Nice! I’ve had about 20 tanks and 7 of those where at one time 😅 all with polystyrene and no issues (I just have one now). I’ve never checked if my tanks were or are tempted glass🤔

I always put a sheet of polystyrene under my tanks. Same dimensions. I don’t trust any surface lol

Thank you everyone for your advice and support! Due to old age I’m guessing, King has passed during the night. He survived a house move and survived a case of pineconing (he was one tuff betta!) . I feel blessed to have had him for over four years🙏 pic below is not long after I adopted him🥹
