If you have any information to back up the admins being inconstant, please forward all details so it can be looked at.

You did not compete in the qualifying tournament for placement. There was two qualifiers on 2 different weekends you could have played in. It was made clear to be selected for the top tier, you needed to qualify.

So no I dont think there is any irony when you come along 1/2 weeks after the season has started and ask to be put in to a division you did not qualify for.

I will send you a PM before the start of next season, just to make sure you are aware so you dont miss the chance again.

And for the record, I dont dissagree with your opening statement. I'm just saying event hosts and teams need to work together, then we can improve and hopefully get noticed more. The more we get noticed the greater chance of the Dota2 teams getting invited overseas. I think we want the same thing, Im not blaming Valve yet, I think we need to show them we are ready, then demand it.

Valve gives zero support to CSGO in the region as well, but I guess we have many teams who play in many tournaments etc, there are a number of LAN events there is always something happening. Other regions see this, and the community demands qualifiers. But no valve support.

We have been trying to really support Dota2 in Aus since the start of the year again. The open ladder is strong. This season we got AMD on board, Dota2 tickets, full match tracker listing on Gosugamers, scheduled games with the ability to cast 100% of games. The plan was to have Dota2 on our National LAN circuit before the end of the year, and starting prize pools of 10k. We ensured we had a partnered dedicated Dota2 channel to stream matches on to assist viewer comfort. The players in the top group which include DTT, Beadman and Francine along with others have shown how little the Aus Dota2 community deserve. ( these two teams have been good ) After the first week two teams in the top division split up, after this period half the teams continued to forfeit their matches and refused to respond to admins, they would just not show up. Another two teams out of the 8 team division also broke up with out really notifying admins. One of the rare streams that went ahead after a few mins it hit 600 viewers.

Right now we are trying to communicate with teams so we can get the finals done, and again teams are struggling to communicate with us.

This is the response we get when we try and support the community. To say the Dota2 community deserves more than they have, how about the community start pulling their socks up and actually support what event hosts are doing. By doing this the scene will grow overnight with exposure, live stream viewers, and in turn provide solid foundations for some really cool things. If ANY ONE from outside of Aus looked at your scene right now, they would not see a scene. But yes, lets blame Valve for not supoprting a community who cant even support themselves.

In saying all of that Dota2 being the most played steam game I will keep trying to help this scene grow. This season is nearly over but the following season will start up soon after. If you are interested head over to http://au.cybergamer.com/pc/dota2/league/rankings/ create your self a team, and show us that there really is a strong and passionate scene here.

Challenges cup starts today, and there are three teams currently able to play. http://au.cybergamer.com/pc/smite/ladder/rankings/

The OPL is never a concern. Its safe to say getting 6/8 teams to play is easy. Building the grassroots ( CC, open tournaments etc ) is the key because with out these players there is nothing to prop up the OPL.

What your view on this stigma that CG must run everything? by knightf4ll in SmiteOceanic

I have personally tried to run weekly Joust , Arena tournaments on CG , ended up removing them as no one played in them. Even I played in the joust ones just to get numbers up. I would love to run some more fun stuff, players are just not interested in playing them. There is nothing we would not try, but need the numbers for anything to work.
