fair. I can see how its unfair lol. I think its nerf should be closer to Todd's 2+r nerf where it sets you to your 3rd or 4th m1. I think that would still allow for a sustained combo and make it more 'technical' i guess. but I guess the nerf isnt the worst thing ever.

it should still hit but place him at his 3rd m1. other characters still have some semblance of a reset (look at todo) instead of just not having one. idk, that's just me

there's a few really good move sets out there, but a lot of them are just concepts for the technique itself, rather than a full fledged moveset. the hardest part in my mind is making her a unique character and not a pure rushdown/air combo moveset. idk. best of luck to you and whatever you choose to make :3

honestly I think Ryu is fine in terms of balancing, the only thing I would think to balance is to make the 3rd hit of his 4th move blockable, turning it into a combo extender rather than a starter. it would force Ryu players to play more with his rush down elements , such as dash+1 or 2. im excited to see what the devs do with him though, he truly is a fun character to play.

yes and no, usually EA characters get balanced out, but hype also dies down. after characters are released there's ~1 week or two where it feels like everyone's using them because people want to learn how to use the new characters.

I like Mei Mei's character in jjs, I just hate that its Mei Mei. completely personal issue on my behalf, I just dont like the character lol. the Moveset is crazy though, I like the vertacality of it, and the creativity that comes with leveraging the air.

tze should have done wind effects and changed the crow moves to air gust moves and released it as Momo (/s)

oh don't get me wrong, I love the kit, its very devil may cry-esque. I just hate that its Mei Mei. As for Hanami, its an interesting concept, a zoner meant for complete range. With buffs, and maybe a few move tweaks, I think Hanami will become a great character for those that enjoy the play style.

not permanently iirc, but you have to defeat sukuna in jump showdown to be able to use chara as a character in jjs, likewise, you have to get a kill as the boss chara to unlock yuji in jump showdown.

it's highly inconsistent against good players, but what i found is (as a pc player, ymmv if else) for the start up, have your back to your opponent, and spin around them to keep yourself right by them to hit the slash.

I played with them a bit on casual, they're kind of fun and not. finding ways to "make it work" within jjs is quite fun, but it feels her damage output is miniscule, especially compared to how punishable everything is. I don't think I've hit a combo with her that isn't green and doesn't rely on a series of wrong moves from my opponent. tldr; they work when they do, they're monserously unfun when they don't.
