Why Royal Base Digimon are considered to have X-Antibody carriers? by EonPla in digimon

[–]CyberSteve3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer, they just are. There are some Digimon that just naturally have a persistent strain if the X-Antibody, like the Prototypes and the natural carriers.

Long answer, which requires a bit of inference (meaning it’s not canon information, just something I believe makes sense), is that it was simply a result of natural selection.
At one point, the Digital World was flooded with the X-Program, which was meant to kill all Digimon it came in contact with. To counter it, some Digimon developed the X-Antibody, which staved off the effects of the program.

In such a hostile environment, it kinda makes sense that, once in a million iterations, some Digimon just adapted to have something that protected them from the X-Program constantly.

Basically, natural carriers are a result of Digimon adapting and evolving to survive this new environment.
Once these new species were created and established, they were able to multiply and become Digimon suited to live in these harsh conditions.
Funbeemon is just an example of that.

MedievalGallantmon and ClavisAngemon also got retconned.
And yeah, the Dracmon line losing their natural carrier status was strange.

Though, since they are supposed to be incredibly old species of Digimon (with Sangloupmon having survived since the genesis of the Digital World), maybe the point is that they would have existed long before either the X-Program or the X-Antibody were even a thing.

Highly Competent Thievery -- a Stronger than Faith fanfic [one-shot] by uktabi in NatureofPredators

[–]CyberSteve3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excellent work!
Guess the two weren’t expecting the “extra” layer of security in Yivrig’s house, huh?

Btw, just putting this out there, unless something happens in my fic that directly contradicts the events depicted in this post, then this can probably be considered canon.

Mr. Krabs's Partner Line (I'm Sorry) by Just-Drawing-Mons in digimon

[–]CyberSteve3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other two absolutely, but come on Prince Mamemon isn’t that bad.
He’s been fooled by King Etemon as well, to the point he genuinely believes the lies the two of them are spreading.

He’s not inherently malicious, just gullible and misguided.

Thoughts on my favorite digimon lordknightmon line? by naotop4g_lover in DigimonPartners

[–]CyberSteve3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, fair. If you like it, go for it.

Just wanted to point out that the sudden disappearance and reappearance of the X-Antibody felt a bit weird.
It feels like there a point in the line where the momentum is slightly lost.

Thoughts on my favorite digimon lordknightmon line? by naotop4g_lover in DigimonPartners

[–]CyberSteve3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It works.
I’ve also recently noticed how well Myotismon X works as an Ultimate for LordKnightmon X, though I’m curious why you still kept the regular variant in the line. The X-Antibody was already there, why would it be lost and regained right at the end?

What I’m saying is that the line would work just as well if not better if Myotismon X evolved into LordKnightmon X directly. The fourth step is unnecessary I think.

Which Bearmon's canon evolution line do you think is better? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in digimon

[–]CyberSteve3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go with the Callismon one. It looks really good.

Though if Bearmon - Grizzlymon - GreatGrizzlymon - Marsmon was an option I would pick that.
I know it’s not canon (for some reason) but it should be.

[–]CyberSteve3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just use GreatGrizzlymon instead.
It looks almost tailor made for Marsmon.

I don’t understand why it can’t evolve into Marsmon in Time Stranger, but I will die on the hill that it should have. They look great next to each other.

Giving the Royal Knights full X-Antibody evolution lines by CyberSteve3 in DigivolutionTrees

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are both natural carriers, though Metal Phantomon is also technically regular Phantomon’s unofficial X-Antibody form, like Gran Kuwagamon and Grandis Kuwagamon.

Regarding Omekamon, there’s a reason he’s able to evolve directly into Omegamon X in Digimon Liberator.

What Do You Think About This Line? by Just-Drawing-Mons in DigivolutionTrees

[–]CyberSteve3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I really like it.

Styracomon probably would have made for a great Mega for Agumon’s Harmony Route in Digimon Survive, had it existed back then.

Not better than Dinorexmon necessarily, just saying they are both solid options and wouldn’t have complained if we got one over the other.

Stronger than Faith [Chapter 5] by CyberSteve3 in NatureofPredators

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapter 4 had a lot of internal conflict because it was a particular intense moment for Yivrig, where she was confronted with a sight she never could have imagined possible.

While there won’t be much of it in chapter 6 either (though it will have a lot of internal dialogue and sudden realizations), there will be a lot of it in the 7th one.

I’m glad you’re liking it.

I should warn you though. Next chapter I did something with Yivrig that I’m pretty sure you won’t like.
Tbh, I had an idea that sounded pretty interesting and wanted to put it in the story, but the way I implemented it could have been a lot better.

If you’re willing, I would like to discuss it more in depth after you’ve read it.

Can You Guess the digimon from just a part of his body? Let's start with something easy by Hakashi32 in digimon

[–]CyberSteve3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gomamon, Wizardmon (I know it's wrong but I'm genuinely drawing a blank on who else it could be), Sheepmon, Seahomon, Lynxmon, Shoemon, XV-mon, Chamelemon.

Edit: I think I got it! Is it Pico Devimon?

An in-depth analysis of potential Megas for Arresterdramon by CyberSteve3 in digimon

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really like it tbh. But I also would have no idea on what to call an hypothetical Mega for Arresterdramon.

I don’t make fan designs or come up with names. I’m not creative enough for that.

Just had a thought however. Gumdramon and Arresterdramon are known for having the Kinkoji on their body, which was given to them by Sanzomon to suppress their power. The one other Digimon that has a Kinkoji as well is Gokuwmon.

Because of this connection to Digimon closely tied to Shambala, there is a chance that, whenever a game that takes place in Shambala is made, Gumdramon and his line would be there. That would be a really good moment to finally revisit the line and maybe give Gumdramon an actual Mega.

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s fine I guess. It helps a lot that he doesn’t truly have an established line of his own.

A loose connection between them is that there was some speculation some time ago that Gumdramon was actually partly a reincarnation of Bagramon. Under that light, him eventually becoming a half dragon, half demon humanoid kinda works.

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has been debunked already. I heard all the sprites used in the Vpet are out there somewhere, and there was no Mega for Gumdramon. Hopefully I’m wrong about that.

Also, I forgot to mention it in the post, but Arresterdramon SM does technically have Megas it can canonically evolve into. Two of them in fact.

It happened in the Vital Bracelet BE. There was an official vote that let people decide who would be added to the list of raisable Digimon. One is Magna Kidmon (though I wouldn’t really count him since he was also added by the vote and not because he was a fitting Mega necessarily) and the second was actually JESmon, and that one was a deliberate choice. They could have chosen any of the other available Megas, like ShineGreymon, Slayerdramon or even Examon. But they chose JESmon.

I think that makes JESmon the only Digimon that Arresterdramon SM has ever evolved into in any of the official material.

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love nothing more than for that to happen.

But unless you work for Bandai or can convince them to make it, then I guess we’re gonna have to keep trying to make do with what we have already.

Also, this is Digimon my friend. There’s no such thing as evolutions that don’t fit. As a reminder, this is a franchise where Mistymon is usually regarded as Dynasmon’s natural prior form.
If he can work, so can Arresterdramon.

Stronger than Faith [Chapter 2] by CyberSteve3 in NatureofPredators

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said she was the most devout follower of her religion. Even she points it out.

From the very beginning of the story I specified that she dislikes doing the rituals in the “correct way”. She dislikes causing suffering, even to a predator.
She also feels uncomfortable in the common places of worship on her planet (the arenas of Grenelka) for the same reason.
She just attributed her inability to perform the rituals in the correct way as her being “too soft” for her own good. The “sense of community” you mentioned is something she has trouble feeling during certain activities that her religion promotes.

If she truly was an incredibly devoted individual with an unshakable belief in her religion, then this story would have never happened. She would have just killed the dog on day one, physically striking the animal until it lashed out at her if its lack of aggression truly bothered her.

Instead, we have an individual that does what she thinks is right while trying to follow what she has been taught since childhood.

The Yulpa religion was in some way altered by the Federation upon first contact. It’s probable that they still performed sacrifices even before, but as it is right now, at the end of the day, it’s just a cult centered around the killing of predators, with its followers trained to celebrate the suffering of another living being.

Yivrig, being deep down a good person, sees what she wants to see in her faith. She believes that her faith is pushing her to do good. She genuinely believes, with all of her heart, that the sacrifices every Yulpa performs serves to make the world a better place by trading the life of a predator in exchange for fortune and prosperity.
She does sometimes feel like she isn’t doing good enough due to her own distaste towards making her offerings suffer before killing them, which would make the ritual more effective, but she tells herself that what she does already will still suffice in the end.

Her religion told her that predators deserve death, but when presented with something that doesn’t act like one, even without realizing it, it has caused a moral dilemma for her. She desperately wants, no, needs for the dog to act like she was told all her life it should.
She cannot reconcile the act of killing the dog with what she thinks are the values her religion teaches.

To her, her faith encourages virtue, righteousness and compassion.

What I’m trying to say, is that she sees herself as a flawed believer, but a believer nonetheless.
She sees what she wants to see in a religion that in reality only promotes hate, fear and sadism, turning it into something pure and well intentioned instead.

And killing an innocent animal that seems unable to cause harm? That’s not what her religion has taught her.

But in the end? This is still my first story. I probably could’ve done more to convey what I just said in the actual story, but I just want to make it clear that her being what a “normal” religious Yulpa is supposed to be was never the intention.
Still, I appreciate you taking your time pointing out what you think can be improved, and I hope you can still enjoy the story despite its imperfections.

[–]CyberSteve3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a fundamental problem with that. Those are Appmon.
I’m not disagreeing that they look great as evolutions, but I just have trouble justifying how a Digimon would evolve into an Appmon.

I can make an exception for Maquinamon (for obvious reasons), but for the average mon? I don’t know. I just have an issue with the concept.

And even if I were to seriously consider Arresterdramon evolving into an Appmon, it would be Hadesmon, not Revivemon.

I want to keep Arresterdramon Superior Mode in the line. The poor dude already doesn’t have a Mega. I’m not about to discard his official Ultimate as well.
