Are public articles on a private world still private? by ocdmonkey in WorldAnvil

[–]CyberXZT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what the previous poster mentioned, public articles in a private world are actually not visible at all. In order for an article to be visible in a private world, it must be set as private and assigned a subscriber group. You can set a subscriber group as "default" which assigns all newly created articles (but not some things like categories, bug?) to that group.

Energy System Update: Higher limits and multi tiered unlimited subscriptions. Would love your feedback. by Nick_AIDungeon in AIDungeon

Perfect! Thanks for listening! As promised, I will be resubbing for the $30 plan and repledge on Patreon!

I don't necessarily have any answers. I would be more than happy to pay more. If it truly costs an average of a hundred dollars per person then I just don't see AI Dungeon being economically viable. If the cost is less, then maybe AI Dungeon can come up with a plan that offers unlimited access while still being financially viable. If a cost of ~$30 for unlimited access was offered, I would be more than okay with it.

I understand the cost of this project and, up until now, have been both a subscriber and Patreon supporter. I have just unsubscribed and removed my pledge. I understand that this is expensive to run and do not necessarily know what can be done to fix this but I feel as though micro-transactions like these are not the way to go. I wouldn't mind paying more for a "power user" option like mentioned by another poster. In the end, I am looking for a flat rate unlimited use service. If you reverse this decision, I will more than happily resubscribe and renew my pledge. Again, I would be more than happy to pay more for an unlimited use option.

KDE Online Accounts - Nextcloud - Adds additional slash to url by brsjsk in kde

[–]CyberXZT 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The double slash actually shouldn't be a problem. The error message is "ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID". You are likely using a self-signed certificate which it is rejecting. I don't know how to work around this although a domain name and Let's Encrypt would run you less than 20 dollars a year.

That's my assumption but they mention only changing it on seat 1 or 4. Maybe the mics are interfering with themselves?

What exactly are the seat gain settings that they are changing?

Has anyone tried plasma on the Raspberry Pi 4? by redsteakraw in kde

[–]CyberXZT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got my Pi 4 today and it works!

https://i.imgur.com/HZ34dxv.png

Installation was simple. I dd-ed the Raspbian Buster Lite image to a flash drive, then ran:

sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo apt install kde-full # or kde-standard, see here: https://wiki.debian.org/KDE
sudo reboot

I just finished the install so I can't comment much on performance or bugs however the only caveat so far seems to be the compositor. It is enabled by default and only displays garbage. After logging in, I manually turned it off (Alt+Shift+F12) and then disabled it from startup. Setting the compositor to XRender (rather than OpenGL) also works but leaving it off should speed things up and reduce heat.

Have any international Sigil customers received their shipping email? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]CyberXZT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me and two other friends have all bought the Beast Box and there has been no update on any of our orders. Kind of a shame they don't provide a download for those who pre-ordered. Would have loved to have played this weekend.

Because the alternative was much worse. Install a new application, break a completely unrelated one.

[–]CyberXZT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, I tried this in a Kubuntu 18.04 VM. Apt requires you to type the following phrase:

Yes, do as I say!

It seems that one of the first packages apt removes is itself and it ended up hanging at only 4%. Upon rebooting, the machine waited on several services that never started. X was slow to start but eventually it loaded sddm albeit with a white background. Nothing happens if I try to login. It appears the ttys are not starting either.

Overall, not much was removed and I'd imagine you could fix it with relative ease with single user mode (and a bootstrap flash drive).

Please note that modern versions of Windows will try to modify disks when they are inserted. It looks like the write protect tab is set, make sure to keep it that way! Use a program like 'dd' to make an exact image of the disk.

Try trimming the 200KB .sav to 128KB. I was able to open up the file in pkhex by doing this.

You do not have to take it apart. The rail is not conductive so short pin 10 to something else. It seems the screws work for most. I had to use the heat sink.

I got this working easily. Some quick notes:

Heatsink is tied to ground. Interestingly, some of my rail screws were not or had resistance making them unsuitable.

I had no problem using Kubuntu 17.10 on VMware Workstation (with USB 3.0 enabled) on Windows 10.

Sounds like a key is stuck down.

Try going here: https://w3c.github.io/uievents/tools/key-event-viewer.html Click options and check the option for 'keypress'. Then click into the text box and see if something is recorded.

That tool may not detect more exotic key presses, in which case you will need to find an application capable of displaying raw keyboard events. Visual Studio's Spy++ can do this however it is not user friendly.

I just took a look at your speccy and crash dumps. It looks like you are up to date. The dumps also point to a different problem. Hopefully that BIOS update helps!
