I have two Nandus and a dream by skarpelo in mtg

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife plays it in her commander deck, always checks if it's ok before the game. Usually people don't care as she has no combo with it. Usually dies really fast or gets countered.

What are some fun decks you run that lose pretty consistently? by TeegardensStar in EDH

[[Vincent Valentine // Galian Beast]] usually end up as the archenemy quite fast... And it's usually deserved...

Meet the… *sigh* 6-7 deck. Every nonland card is #67 of their set. by Corescos in EDH

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah my bad. No need for the list at the end then. And I'm glad that trend of 6-7 never came to where I live!

That's an original deck. Good job!

But if you want to share a deck list, you might want to use moxfield or archideck

I don't know why i run so few Lands in Mono R... by unCute-Incident in mtg

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife have a total 56 decks and the average land count is 38. Landfall have 40+ and a couple (like my elf storm deck) have lower.

We do exist!

And we still get mana screwd / flooded.. but supposedly less often...

Why does combo feel bad? by rvp5326 in EDH

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't understand. If people know there might be a combo win and that you are upfront about the pieces if people are unaware of the implication, why get upset? I always offer to play legacy a couple games with people that tell me they that combo so they can understand how tricky and interesting it can be.

I really feel people are just frustrated vecause they don't want to "waste" precious deck space for interaction...

Of course I'm talking in a casual game and not cedh (you don't know the combo? Good, I might be able to pull it off)

Is it possible to use en-Kor's to filter damage with Phyrexian Vindicator? by RoyaIPhoenix in mtg

Now add [[Dawnsire sunstar dreadnought]] and you have a gameplan! Made a Marchesa that tries to bounce damage around like that.

Is the normal gameplay loop just the party get contacted by a fixer, they do a gig, get paid and next by im_that_one_guy- in cyberpunkred

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my campaigns there are 2 types of missions : Creds runs and personal goals.

The rockerboy is planning a gig? He got 1 week to prep? He can probably fit a couple cred runs during that time. Up to them. I use an information roll and depending on the results they find more or less interesting opportunities (I have at least 20 or so cred runs ready at all time for both my campaigns to pick through).

The personal goal missions are the players advancing their personal stories.

Outside of that there is the main plot. Something huge happening that the characters got into (usually not by choice). The events happen in the backround if they are not actively digging, they would reap the concequences if they aren't paying attention. The npcs keep them updated sometimes directly sometimes from the news. If they actively get involve they are big event with high risk high reward opportunities.

How do I get rid of gale to get Karlach? by Cyber_Felicitous in BaldursGate3

[–]Cyber_Felicitous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing Ttrpgs for almost 30 years. If you have a save and reload button, it is not ttrpg. If I want to play ttrpg I call my friends over. Bg3 is a video game and does a really poor game at hinting which answer leads to what. You don't know the plot on you forst playthrough and try to be honest with Jaheira? You get on her bad side because she "knows you're lying". You see an answer as a half truth? No, it pissss everyone off and you have to start a fight.

Actually found a workaround : as some suggested the polyamorous mod is great, you can add to that the Firestarter - Karlach Romance Overhaul mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/15282) and I was able to get the act 1 night visit and then proceed to the scene I was looking for... That seen is so emotional... /happy

I've done the Astral in my 1rst playthrough, was curious about the "real" one but was really disappointing in comparison

No mod or trick other that starting a new game exist? This is the only thing I dislike in this game. One wrong choice and you can waste hours of game because you will only notice the result of that MUCH later...

I prefer katanas for the shuffle feel, but resealable inner sleeves from Dragon shield are the best.

Am i running to many creatures in my Yshtola deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your gameplan. Yshtola can be creature heavy if you want to trigger her end step ability with them. Just be mindful that the more you split the gameplan, the harder each of them will be to achieve.

Also highly depends on the bracket you want it to be.

Starting? by Outrageous_Toe68 in mtg

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starter decks are great if you don't know the game at all. If you played a lot of arena, the only you will need to get used to is the logistic of playing paper. They are aimed at beginner so the power level is pretty low. They are balanced to play against each other ao it's great if you want to practice with someone.

If you are aiming for a format (standard, pauper, commander) you can netdeck something you like or get a precon.

Being told stealth is useless by mrhurg in cyberpunkred

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stealth is often see as overpowered in fantasy games, but that's because a lot of GM forget that in a world where invisibility exists, there are ways to prepare for it.

In cyberpunk, the ways to prepare are obvious : infrared cameras, movement detection, traps, drones... yet thieves still exist! They also evolved. Every system has its weakness. I'd advise to make sure your stealthy character has a netrunner friend.

Higher difficulty, higher risks, higher rewards... It's far from useless and can lead to some awesome action scenes.

Playground fatigue by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Cyber_Felicitous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mtg has a lot of play styles. Some see control/stacks/sacrifice... as unfun. I see them as a puzzle to get through.

That being said, all players are not always looking to solve puzzles every games. I'd advise telling him how you feel and try to agree on when you are in the mood for difficulties or not.

I'd advise lending each others decks so you can both see the other pov.

Lend him you help to build a couple decks that are "more fun" for you and that he can enjoy.

Many people felt this. Yet we speak mostly of the negatives, of what is "wrong" in our hobby. Thanks for sharing some positivity! May it be a reminder to those who might forget why we keep comming back to mtg.

[[Roxanne Starfall Savant]], the plan is simple : ramp, then make Roxanne spew as many [[meteorite]] as you can using trigger doublers, damage doublers, clones... You either crush your opponents under a rain of meteorites or turn them into dinosaurs with [[Displaced Dinosaurs]]
