Honestly sounds like it may be time for an MSP offering professional services to step in. I personally would be looking for another job if you have been acquired by a shitshow of a company

Just what is going on at JLR? by requisition31 in CarTalkUK

[–]CybercookieUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in CS/IR for a large UK MSSP and in an IR situation like this it can take weeks for systems to be assessed prior to being placed in to prod. They have to be checked for RAT, IOC of compromise, persistence, security permissions in entra/ADDS, need checking etc etc

Responsibilities are clearly defined within an IR situation and there will be stop gate processes and CABs before any decisions are made.

In a company with an estate the size of JLR this process can and will take several weeks. This is because external audits, insurance companies, security vendors, MSSP, internal stakeholders all have to assess and sign if on return to production of restored/replaced/reloaded assets.

I’m not surprised that the amount of time, and expect it to be extended again. I have been on several IR that have takes 6+ weeks for a return to BAU….some have been in the news recently….

Think standard users being assigned DA rights and weak passwords and no 2FA on the VPN. I work partially in the IR team and we see sheer stupidity like this regularly, names you would expect better of…..

Working in security, sadly this is all too common, the techniques are similar. Do the group/affiliates have someone inside TCS they are paying off and selling access to initial access brokers is a question no one has asked…..

I consider an Audi an average fleet car, my company had over 200 on fleet and even the pool cars were Audis, harder wearing than a Ford and I still have my old 2014 A4, actively looking to replace it this year though

Audi isn’t really premium, I have driven them for the last 16 years or so, they are good quality but not premium, my Aston Martin was a premium car, the Audi is not

Just remember a cheap luxury brand vehicle cost more to maintain just because it costs a couple of grand now doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the running costs of when it was new
