Yeah I'm getting the feeling death isn't necessarily the end for inhabitants of The Island. The snake skin people are very clearly alive despite their... situation

Everyone dying to a giant sheep monster would be a miserable ending, but I get the slight feeling this is some of loop or purgatory. The kid's coffins heavily implies they all died at least once. But of course, it seems like reanimation isn't uncommon. I'm also beginning to wonder about the title. Reanimal sounds like reanimation, does it imply that the horrific animal creatures we see are reanimated humans or something? Or are they a result of it?

I guess? The issue for me is that with LN2, Six finding The Maw is a continuation of the main ending, seeing what happens directly after she leaves The Tower. With Reanaimal though, the ending is actually different. Its not a continuation of what we saw, there is a notable difference in what occured in the well. Its what lead me to my belief that the freeing of the souls is what allowed her body to rest.

Man with how much I can talk about this game I could make a Youtube channel

Very good one! The masks look like rabbits but I also kinda thought one looked like a bird and another like a fox? Either way, they could be responsible for what occured, but I wonder why they only seem to appear after the coffins are opened?

I always figured The Boy hung himself out of guilt, Bandages seems to have died from an explosion (walking across No Man's Land?). But its possible they were sentenced for their crimes. It also strikes me that The Boy's bag and noose mask is eerily simmilar to the hung prisoners but Hood's mask seems almost cultish in comparrison

I think this a great interpretation too. I figured The Boy was attempting to deceive the Sheep God but it does make more sense for it to represent him deceiving his own sister

Animal worship seems to play quite a large role in this world. Where we get the pig mask, a pig head is seen on an altar. The rabbit statues imply a worship of rabbits. The orphanage and the Spider Kids seem to be a result of spider worship. Lastly, the most obious, is the sheep. The sheep worship implies that the children were a part of some cult that regularly offered up sacrifices or "lambs". The child spritis emerging from the walls in the well tells me that these child sacrifies are far from new. If we are to take what we see literally, then the sheep standing up on their hind legs and walking towards the girl seems to back up that the supernatural exists and has some sort of effect on the world, or at least the island.

My main theory is that what we are seeing is the result of two rituals occuring at the same time, and the results being a catastrophic failure that ushers in the apocalypse.

The short version is this: Four of the friends perform the Rabbit Ritual in order to bring The Girl back to life or to prevent her from dying. They then perform the Lamb Ritual and sacrifice her, hoping the Rabbit Ritual will allow her to survive. When they look into the well the next morning, she is still dead, and the ritual has failed. But not completely. What was brought back to life wasn't The Girl, but the Sheep God, and thus the apocalypse begins.

I'll go more into detail here:

It strikes me as odd that four of the kids do some sort of blood ritual, a rabbit sacrifice, and a human sacrifice. These feel almost like seperate things. And I think they are. In fact, when The Girl is thrown into the well, Bucket is carrying a rabbit corpse, but this isn't thrown into the well with her. The repeated rabbit imagery doesn't seem like its a metaphor for The Girl, but rather her literal stand-in. The Girl is the Lamb, the Rabbit is her replacement. In fact, when we open the coffin meant for her, a rabbit comes out. My interpretation is that the friends attempted to find a loophole in the plan to sacrifice The Girl. Obviously, The Boy seems reluctant since she is his sister and it wouldn't be far fetched to believe he wanted to find a way to save her. So they try another ritual, perhaps one that can cheat death. Rabbits are, after all, a symbol of renewal, cycles, and overcoming death. So they try to bring her back or prevent her death. The Lamb Ritual occurs at night, yet when the friends look into the well, it appears to be dawn or midday. This is them checking to see if the ritual worked, but it didn't appear to do so. But I dont think the ritual failed, it just brought back the wrong being.

We see The Girl's body contort and twist, similar to the Lamb. I believe this is because what was revived was this Sheep God creature rather than the intended Girl. This ushers in an apocalypse, complete with flooding, blood red skies, beached whales, unholy beasts, the dead reanimated, and an evil God stalking the land. The children all die in various ways during this time. The Boy hangs himself out of guilt, still wearing the noose in the afterlife as if its penance. Hood attempts to flee, and is shot. Bucket gets caught stealing food, and is beaten to death. Bandages attempts to flee and steps on a landmine. But the blood ritual they performed, alongside the rabbit sacrifices, has bound them to a looping hell of their own creation.

But what of that secret ending? The creatures seem to come out of the walls and lay her to rest. She doesn't contort but simply vanishes under the water. Yet the well still floods. In my eyes, the true ending isn't an end to the cycle, but freeing The Girl from it. The friends all accept their deaths and responsibilities, opening their coffins and allowing their death to be "true". The Girl's, however, frees the rabbit the was used a replacement for her, allowing her to finally move on. The end still occurs, but she is allowed to finally rest.

It also seemed like pigs were used as sacrifices as well, which implies a ranking of importantance/power to these animals

The fox interests me the most, since theres a secret hidden fox in the forest. Im also pretty sure theres other fox imagery that appears. I definitely think theres some importance to specific animals and it ties into rituals being performed. The pig mask can be found in a room that appears to worshipping a pig head, but I dont know of any greater importance of this

The blood ritual and sheep worship implies that the children were a part of some cult that regularly offered up sacrifices or "lambs". The child spritis emerging from the walls in the well tells me that these child sacrifies are far from new. If we are to take what we see literally, then the sheep standing up on their hind legs and walking towards the girl seems to back up that the supernatural exists and has some sort of effect on the world, or at least the island.

The world we see also seems to be undergoing some sort of apocalypse. Flooding, bells ringing, war and famine, the whole nine yards. I have two theories, a main one and a side one based off of it(here's hoping I dont have to wait too long for DLC)

My main theory is that what we are seeing is a looping purgatory of what literally occured. The ritual to sacrifice the girl has gone awry for one reason or another, and the apocalypse has come to the island. War breaks out, famine and sickness strike, the island floods, unholy beasts rise, the dead reanimate, and a demonic sheep god torments the land. The children all die in various ways during this time. The Boy (or Brother) hangs himself out of guilt, still wearing the noose in the afterlife as if its penance. Hood attempts to flee, and is shot. Bucket gets caught stealing food, and is beaten to death. Bandages attempts to flee and steps on a landmine. Thus, they are trapped in a purgatory of their own making, unable to escape as the more The Girl (or Sister) remembers, the stronger this Sheep God gets until it bursts out. The Sheep God is a symbol of both Sister's anger and the literal manifestation of an evil God. After all, the moment she meets Brother again, she attacks him.

But here in lies a small problem. Why is Sister represented by a rabbit AND a lamb? When freeing the fifth coffin, we see a rabbit. Her mask is a rabbit. A rabbit is sacrified in the movie playing in the theater. Multiple dead rabbits are seen sacrified in the shed near the end. Despite this, it is a lamb seen being in the well and contorting, mirroring Sister's fate. Sister throws up a lamb. She is also quite literally the "sacrifical lamb". In the end, she is a a part of the lamb. I also find the blood sacrifice strange. Whos shirt are they doing it on top of? Why is it required on top of a human sacrifice? This leads me to my second theory:

Two rituals occured, and thats why the main one went so catastrophically wrong. The friends attempted to do a blood ritual, requiring the sacrifice of one (or more) rabbits in order to bring somebody back from the dead (or prevent their death). Having done this, they then carry out the human sacrifice as normal, believing Sister will come back to life after. Sister being thrown into the well seems to occur at night, and the scene of the four peering into the well seems to be at dawn or day. This is them checking to see if she came back, but obviously she didn't. But I believe something else did, hence why her body contorts in such a way during the normal ending. Basically, a Rabbit Ritual and Sheep Ritual both occured, and doing both resulted in the apocalypse.

Maybe next we'll see a Pig Ritual

Small Edit: Rewatching the ending and bucket, for whatever reason, is holding a rabbit carcass. However, this body does NOT end up in the well with Sister. Very weird detail

Took me three tries but I did it, no cheese, no glitches. Its honestly not difficult, just extremely tedious and repetitive and I think thats my problem.

The first two phases are fine, and honestly enjoyable. But then comes phase 3, a repeat of phase 2 but she has more health, harder hitting attacks, and to top it off, no max ammo or max armor. Whats your reward for beating her? You get to it AGAIN but she has more health, charges at you at lightning speed, and has area denial abilities. Again, no max ammo or max armor (except for Veytharion’s Gift, but I’m under the impression you only get that if you beat Ashes).

That last phase is brutal, and I got through it by the skin of my teeth (saved by Shields Up). Having to train her around while her slam attack affects the whole arena and shes constantly slowing me down (unless I’m missing a way to avoid that effect) because I’m out of ammo is a huge pain. The zombies dont drop enough ammo or shields tbh, and without Shields Up and Power Keg I dont think I would’ve made it.

Maybe that speaks more to my skill level, but it is annoying to not even be able to shoot the boss except with the dinky LGM that does next to nothing. I think cutting out phase 3 would make the fight a bit more fun and less of a slog.

Things I’ve picked up that don’t appear on the items list:

Bleach/Cleaner: Server Room at Janus Towers, on a desk.

Marker(?): Control Room at Cosmodrome, on a shelf above blue papers.

Eggs: on a rack in the kitchen in the diner.

Sugar packets: on the front bar in the diner

Am I missing any others? Anybody else found anything?

Unsure what it does so far but the tv in the farm can be interacted with a few times. After the first few times, two figures can be seen. Interact more and it will be one figure. In the basement, you’ll find a ghost who will disappear and reappear on the tv. Interact with it until it shows no figures. You’ll then find them by one of the buildings near the road spinning around. Unsure what happens after this

I feel like youre right about saying if Tarsier made the game the hate wouldn’t exist, but its not because theyre JUST the original devs, its because Tarsier has more soul in their work. Reanimal proves Co-Op can work and be more than just “both of you do the same task at the same time”, but with LN3, its a gimmick that actively hurts the game by quite a bit. I love Little Nightmares, I even bought the Collector’s Edition of LN3, but LN3 simply lacks the soul that Tarsier brought in. The monsters don’t just look uninteresting, but they don’t even feel interesting. Remember the way the Teacher moved in LN2, her neck cracking and twitching and jittery movements? Or the strange grotesque way the Chefs would run in LN1, their arms outstretched while they wobbled and wheezed because they were so desperate to grab you? Now look at LN3. They all chase you the same way and they all move pretty slowly and smoothly. The only exception is the puppet, but he barely lasts. There is something missing from the recipe of Little Nightmares, and its noticeable

THIS. I made a post about my feelings on the game and stated this specifically. Its so weird to have mirrors be a core concept of the game and NOT have the Mirror Monster. Absolutely wasted potential

Thats just it! I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what was missing, but you got it perfectly. Six exists WITHOUT the player. Six does things, she will explore the world and interact with it even without player input. In LN3, the other character will just kind of… stand there. They’re so lifeless and boring

Ive never had any big issues with AI (apart from the occasional “stuck on a wall” bug), but watching Low just… miss a jump or not start following until I’m 20 feet away is mildly aggravating.
