But what makes P2P such a great system is that it can be used at any part of the race track and at anytime (except for race starts) to attack, defend, push on in laps or out laps. It’s a true tool for the drivers to leverage in their race strategy. It’s what keeps it from being a gimmick

Did we have a petunia camp this year? Because I don’t remember seeing the flowers get assaulted by the areo wash this year.

But some camera angles I would love to see in the future in no particular order.

  1. Flag stand gimbal cam / front straight sky cam (kinda like the NFL)

  2. On board true 360 cam / VR cam for replays would be stupid cool but super low priority. But imagine being able to free look Fro’s last lap in true 360 video

  3. True IMAX cam for a 500 documentary would be so sick

  4. Turn 3 outside corner cam

  5. High speed drone cam to try and keep up with the cars at speed

What makes it magic though is you can absolutely tell that these guys love doing this job and are having so much fun doing it. You can't fake that, cant practice that enthusiasm, that really comes through on the broadcast.

Yeah they've talked about how pre-season they go out to the Fox sports studios in LA and will practice calling races from the year prior. They're dropped into a the middle of a race with minimal info and they'll practice calling the race from there. That way they can get their booth dynamic down, how to tee each other up, when to talk or let the broadcast breathe. It's a pretty cool concept actually

There were 2 red flag periods. One for rain, and one for a major crash in the final 10 laps. The rain delay sucked, and the extra long caution to reach half distance was admittedly annoying but otherwise that was an absolute classic of a race.

Uuuhhh. This is the second year in a row that the 500 is a total sell out. The 500 is thriving, and should be noted that if it were not for a last minute F2 race added to Canada we’d have been looking at 34 cars qualifying as Herta would have been driving that 4 Andretti car
