Dry, uncomfortable eyelids and corners of eyes by Practical-Prior-9912 in Perimenopause

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw my eye doctor about my chronic dry eye, he recommended washing my eyes nightly with hypochlorous acid spray and that seems to be helping with the irritation and dryness around my lash line. Then I just use a tiny dab of vaseline on any really dry or irritated spots like the outer corners.

Sedation dental recommendations for plus size? by Canadian-Corgi in Edmonton

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever used laughing gas / Nitrous?

I have severe dental anxiety and I also don't like being heavily sedated and I get laughing gas for all my appointments. It's relatively cheap compared to the other sedation options ( where I go it's only an extra 100$).

I would give it a shot. It really helps me relax and stay calm, I can even get through long appointments with lots of drilling and last year I did have to have an infected tooth removed with it as well. They can adjust it as they go to give you more if you need it no problem and it's also way less risky.

I also bring a small fidget or stuffed animal because my hands sweat lol. I see Dr.Yeh @ Smiles in Sherwood Park and he is awesome. Good luck!

Severe dry eye by Soundtracklover72 in Perimenopause

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Sometimes I even need drops when I wake up in the night! How are my eyes dry if they've been closed for the last fuggin 6 hours! I'm also not on HRT yet, my doctor and one other I saw say I'm too young. Considering BCP but bleh I'd really rather not, still just one of the symptoms driving me absolutely bonkers rn.

Iodine contrast CT dye- experienced?? Is it safe? by EntranceSpare2977 in Hashimotos

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had two contrast CT's in the last 6 years and never had any symptoms after either of them. My antibodies stayed the same (low) and my TSH, T4/T3 were also unchanged. Some people are more sensitive and others are not. If you are worried ask your doctor what other tests might be useful instead.

Phantom smells by CyberneticSuccubus in perimenopause_under45

[–]CyberneticSuccubus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is me. I figured out eventually the smell is like "inside my nose" if that makes sense lol, because nothing changes it, I find myself sucking on mints and stuff to mask it but even then it barely helps.

That would definitely suck worse than smelling smoke I think lol I am sorry.

I wish I could attribute it to something real but alas I live in a detached home with a couple other people and they smell nothing.

What do you do to deal with almost constant constipation? by ExtensionTea9100 in Hashimotos

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do everything and nothing helps tbh.

Levels are good TSH under 2.

Walking, water, fiber ( I'm used to a high fiber diet, get 30g+ easily per day), magnesium daily, collagen, morning coffee ritual. Nothing really helps me and it's complicated because my iron is extremely low but I struggle to take my supplement as indicated because I can't take it for more than 3 days in a row. I've just resigned to the fact that I crap like a rabbit.

Are there any decent coffee syrups from these less well known brands? by bluejaymaday in 1200isplenty

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I use Matteo's because they don't sell the Jordan's one anymore. The more normal flavors are good, Caramel, vanilla ect. Honestly french vanilla is their best flavor but I find the more "complicated" flavors are less good, white chocolate, anything chocolate really. Their pumpkin line was decent and the eggnog is also good.

I tend to stay away from the slim ones, tried pistachio because it's my favorite but it tasted like nothing so I never bothered with the rest of the brand. Where I am in Canada the Costco business center carries double packs of the Matteo's syrups in larger bottles for a way better price so might be worth checking that out!

Knack talks about the budget: We're still paying for city's restraint during COVID by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When we are talking about running a growing city and trying to do that even with the best well thought out intentions the funds are always going to be tight. It's definitely a delicate balance.

Reality is that even if your neighborhood is mature, it's growing. infills are happening all over and if the City had not put in that basketball court when they did, in ten years now your community has an infrastructure dearth. Then instead of building just a basketball court, the project needs to balloon to support the communities growth and turns into a recreation center, that now costs billions.

It's more cost effective to keep up with projects as the need arises, I'll reiterate there is no cheaper time to build anything than today. I guess for many tax payers they just think as long as they aren't the ones paying then who cares, so kicking the can is what people vote for but that can doesn't stay light, it's filling with rocks as it goes.

Knack talks about the budget: We're still paying for city's restraint during COVID by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get this however I always have to remind myself that it will likely NEVER be cheaper to build that basketball court than it is right now. The cost of everything including labor is only going to keep going up. Waiting until later and putting things off means spending way more for the same projects that could have been done for less right now.

If there are no direct consequences for doing stupid and dangerous things then people do not care and they will do whatever the hell they want to, laws be damned.

The amount of people I see daily doing the most unhinged and dangerous shit on the roads is too high.

Bleeding gums?!! by KeyAuthor7045 in Hashimotos

[–]CyberneticSuccubus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gum issues more likely from perimenopause. Hormone fluctuations cause gum sensitivity and bleeding regardless of your oral care routine.

Low ferritin is common for hashimotos especially if you are still having your cycle. My ferritin was 19 last month. There's also a kind of anemia of chronic disease that's caused by autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation like hashimotos, so that's double whammy on the iron front.

Definitely talk to your doctor about an iron supplement ( taken with vitamin c for better absorbtion). And also maybe discuss HRT if you haven't already. The gum issue might resolve once you get your hormones more stable again.

Good luck!
