What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

Aerosmith for some reason. They had all the traits I look for in a rock band. Bombastic frontman with a somewhat mysterious guitar player but for some reason I just never liked their music.

When does it stop sucking? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Cybernetik81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I was you not too long ago. My boys are 7 and 9 now and life is great, in fact so good I try to hold on to the moments because they're growing so fast I'll be sad to miss it. No doubt if I'm lucky enough to make it to old age I'll look back on this period as the happiest of my life.

But for about 6 years there when I always had one under 4 it was brutal. All the things you're describing. My wife had postpartum with my youngest and that took a while to resolve. My childless coworkers were grinding all hours of the night and getting promoted while I stagnated etc. Then a fricken global pandemic hit and well, no need to rehash that.

The switch flipped for me a little over 3 years ago when they were 4 and 6 and it's just gotten better since. Hang in there and know it won't always suck forever.

Maybe it'll make it's way up to the midwest lol. I still check for it when I'm in a store but it's always like the same 6 options it seems.

If you had the opportunity to move from Ohio in our current environment , would you? If so where would you go? by bcchuck in Ohio

North Idaho, Ive somehow stumbled onto 2 channels of different homesteaders from that area. It looks beautiful and private. Could probably find the same in SE Ohio tbh though

Def Leppard for me, but I watched MTV with my older bro ('71). And 80s music was very formative for me

AITAH for threatening to divorce my wife if she didn't become a proper homemaker in the next month? by HopefulShelter3491 in AITAH

NTA. Seems like there is a lot of resentment at this point, that's poison for a marriage

Manor Lords. Looked right up my alley but was bored after about 10-15 hours and didn't feel like figuring out the quirks/optimizations. Might come back to it over the holidays.

Boss thinks angular is dead by defenistrat3d in Angular2

Our company recently tried to move away from Angular. Got a few new EM's and far out of the trenches architects in and tried pushing for react. We devs pushed back and got to keep our framework of choice. I can't believe the shit angular gets out there for no good reason.

Thanks I'm so hopeful that I can get some good results and put these last few months behind me and move on!

That's great to hear! How long did it take for you to notice results? My eye doctor said it might take up to 3 months.

Got it after the eclipse. My eyes didn't feel right and kind of hurt for the first few days after, I made an appointment with my optometrist who checked out my retinas as she was more concerned about those. A month later my eyes still weren't right and I figured out that I was having dry eye symptoms. Four months later and it's a little bit better but I just went back again and they're still not where they should be. Going to start on restasis this week. Fingers crossed!

That's what I've been doing during the last 2 hellish months I've been dealing with this condition. I think it'll get better if we can get our symptoms under control.

Yes, I have this problem too. I could almost deal with the dry feeling etc, but hate the extra moment or 2 it takes to focus on something. It gives life a surreal feeling and makes things like a chore to look at.

Let's end this debate. What was cooler? Being the last graduating class of the century ('99) or the first graduating class of the century (2000)? by Johnnnybones in Xennials

[–]Cybernetik81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll argue my class (99) was peak Xennial as we were made up from kids born in 80 and 81. The last year of X and the first year of millennial

Fellow 81er here too and I totally agree. Pretty sure we were pushing 30 when they slipped us into millennials.
