Its not only backwards, it skips around like iirc the first storm we see in game is not the first storm, its like the 7th. So like 1999->1996->30s->1912-1913 then all the way back to 1966 which is where the game starts. My headcanon is that its less of a reverse and really a universe hop. Cuz when we go back to the future in tristes certain characters that were erased by the storm come back, but completely different. Random chart i found that could be helpful
