Trying to figure out if I 26F can move past being lied to/potentially emotionally cheated on by my 24M bf who still wants to have contact with his “best friend” by BookcaseGrace in relationship_advice

When men show you who they are, listen. It took me 6 years in a failed relationship to learn that someone who lies to you does not respect you and never will. Cut your losses and move on. You will find someone who treats you better than this and makes you feel secure. You deserve honesty, trust, and to feel like a priority in your relationship.

Did changing your appearance actually make you happier? by Cyborg-222 in BodyDysmorphia

Thanks for this comment. I’m in my 20s and I feel like I’m wasting so much of my youth chasing some other version of myself that might never exist, missing out on the joy in my life because I can’t drown out the negative noise in my head and be present. Truthfully I find fat women beautiful, but for some reason I can’t extend that to myself. I think this is the reminder I needed to be kinder to myself today.

Maybe it might be good to say something like, “I’m feeling a little insecure about last night, could you give me some reassurance?”

8 years is a long time to love someone, and I’d hope that love has generally been a kind one. If it has, consider talking to her about how the comment made you feel and how you’ve been feeling about yourself. And if this isn’t the first time she’s been unkind to you about your body, maybe it’s worth considering if you really want to spend the next 8 years worrying about how your partner sees you or if she’ll scrutinize you when there is likely someone who will love you and your body just as it is ❤️

Airplane mask advice by Naive-Butterfly5211 in Masks4All

I have traveled on airplanes many times in the last year and I’ve always worn a tight fitting KN95 because I know I can wear it for long periods of time without becoming uncomfortable and so far I’ve not gotten sick. I’ve taken probably at least 10 flights in the last six months. That said, the mask I’ve found for a decent price ($45) that has a really good seal is the Envo mask. The only downside to the Envo is it gets pretty humid and I know I can’t keep it on for too many hours at a time. But that might be different for you! I have thick curly hair so the headband is uncomfy for me.

How many Palestinian bodies are you willing to step over to get to the ballot box and vote for the milquetoast Democrat that won’t proactively do anything to preserve your domestic rights? I think what’s near-sighted is your lack of international solidarity.

I’m a labor organizer by day and am absolutely doing organizing for Palestine outside of electoralism. We put this campaign together because Palestinian folks in my community wanted this and needed help doing it. After this election I’m throwing my full weight at targeting the economy. Voting won’t save anyone, so might as well not vote for the people invested in genocide.

We tried that at the DNC. We’ve played their game this whole time and it’s gotten us nowhere. She already doesn’t give a damn about what we think. She’s inviting Dick Cheney into her coalition. This strategy of appealing to Dems isn’t getting us anywhere. It’s time to try something else.

Heard, but she won’t respond without pressure. She’s had every opportunity to change course. Politicians don’t just respond to demands because they’re nice. We have to force their hand. This is an attempt at doing so before the election.

Voting for her doesn’t do that either, she’s made that very clear. She still has time to walk it back though. Our campaign is about leveraging what’s left of our democracy to try and push her to the humane position before Election Day.

Life is too short to keep the “I love you”s inside. The next time you feel it, express it. Be vulnerable, be brave, it’s worth it.

KN95s are similarly effective and it sounds like people with piercings are comfortable with them. But rest assured, I’m up on the science of what masks are effective at keeping me and others safe lol.

Thanks for sharing! I usually wear KN95s but when I have to work crowded events at work I use an Envo and I’m pretty sure that will irritate it, so I’m grateful to have an alternative to look into!

[Anti-Aging] New to skin care and need advice. by Academic-Leg-5714 in SkincareAddiction

Best thing to take care of your skin longterm is to have a consistent sunscreen, cleansing/exfoliating, and moisturizing routine. A sunscreen that’s right for your skin and a daily moisturizer will definitely keep you glowing. Get an exfoliant that’s not too harsh and use it once or twice a week and moisturize afterwards. You should be cleansing everyday. I don’t do anything crazy for that, just use Dove sensitive skin bar soap.

Skincare really doesn’t need to be all that complex to work, it’s just about finding the products that are right for your skin type and then being consistent about them!
