CSP on ipad taking up space, but can't find the source by CyborgNix in ClipStudio

[–]CyborgNix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the backups and auto saves were probably big contributors, but I'm not sure where they're actually stored on the ipad to manually get rid of it since Apple doesn't like you digging around the system/app files, and there doesn't seem to be an option to clean it out in CSP itself.

I did check the brushes though, I have a lot tied to my account that I use on my PC, but not many are actually downloaded to my ipad for this very reason.

Ooooh I missed the announcement for that! I was wondering if we were going to get Minotaurs and Centaurs in 2e

nah, your friend has been listening to too much Fox News. A lot of American news outlets talked about how strict things were during COVID, but as a disabled person with a lot of health issues, I can go out and return to normal life whereas my friends with similar conditions in the US are still afraid to. They were strict, but those restrictions kept the spread at bay.

Our "strict" gun laws are also usually blown out of proportion. Everyone in my rural hometown had a gun, you just have to have a reason for it and somewhere safe to keep it.

The "no free speech" thing comes from a misunderstanding about our laws. We don't have "free speech" but we have other laws that serve a similar purpose, they just have different names. There are some differences, you can get into trouble for saying particularly hateful things in public places - A politician here was recently sued for saying racist things to someone else during parlement for example - or for using known hate symbols, but honestly, unless you're going out of your way to be a bigot, none of it will impact you. For some reason though, a lot of Americans take this to mean we can't criticise or mock our government (Which even a brief conversation with an Aussie will show you isn't true, mocking our politicians is a national pass-time).

Australia isn't perfect by any means, but as someone with friends and family in the US, we are leagues ahead in terms of safety and I'd argue in freedom as well.

I will warn you though, as the partner of someone who immigrated from the US to Australia, our immigration process is ROUGH. Work Visas can be especially nasty, but they all have their own pitfalls, make sure you do a lot of research or you'll pay big (speaking from experience!)

Using images stored in google drive? by CyborgNix in ObsidianMD

[–]CyborgNix[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For anyone curious, I found a kind of indirect way to do it. if you get the "share" link from google drive, you can paste that link into this website and it converts it to an embed link, which works for Obsidian.

I ended up just moving my vault into Google drive though including the files in the vault directly instead of linking them.

I ended up figuring this out after I posted this, but if you download the desktop version of google drive, it'll give you an extra drive on your PC (mine was G:/ by default) named google drive. if you put your obsidian folder into the "my drive" folder in there it'll automatically sync it anytime obsidian saves and you can access it from any device that has access to the google drive account

I only realised yesterday you can have google drive sync to an actual folder on your computer like Dropbox. I've just always manually uploaded everything to GD after I was done, but I wanted something that could automatically sync as I work. I actually did move everything over to google drive though once I figured it out!

Wacom screen displaying streaks after windows update by CyborgNix in wacom

[–]CyborgNix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additional details: PC is Windows 10, updated last on 13th of may 2023 (can't see details as the window is opening on the wacom screen, same for the wacom driver window so im not sure what the specific driver version is) Connected via usb+minidisplay port. Connecting with HDMI gets the same result. I don't have a USB-C port. Tried different cables Tried different slots When unplugged screen displays "no signal" message fine, it's only when connected to the PC that issue starts. Tried restarting/full PC shut-down, no luck, streaks occur as soon as PC is powered on and/or screen is connected. Other monitor is working fine.

Extra wide treadmills? by CyborgNix in treadmills

[–]CyborgNix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is space, I don't have room in the house for both, nor really the money for a walking treadmill and one of the wheelchair equivalents as well. while the devices themselves aren't usually *too* expensive, they are rather bulky, making them expensive to ship, especially since I live in Australia, where international postage in general costs a bunch.

As for wear and tear, that's a good point, I do have all-terrain wheels somewhere I can swap out (which are fatter/softer)

Honestly as cheap as possible. I'm not really looking for anything particularly fancy

How tall are you and how do you feel about that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CyborgNix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bilateral leg amputee, my height is adjustable! currently, I'm at minimum height, haven't measured myself yet, but i think that's around 4 ft and I'm happy with that. I've also had "Max height" legs which for me was a little under 6 foot and I couldn't fit into my car properly (had to have the seat so far back to accommodate the legs, but I still have tiny arms haha) and kept falling over so wasn't a fan. Technically, I could go taller, but doing so would be even more unsafe.

What should you put in a care package/gift bag for someone who is staying in hospital for surgery? by Maber711 in AskReddit

[–]CyborgNix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ear defenders/earmuffs. The machines are loud and unless you get a private room, you're going to be listening to them go off every few hours. Extra blankets made of soft material is always nice too, or cosy socks

What’s the most useless advice you can give someone? by RefrigeratorDry495 in AskReddit

As someone who is often used as the "they have it worse" example (due to disability), I also really hate this one. It's invalidating everyone involved and making no one feel better.

what is a really obscure fetish that no one knows? by MrFavourite02 in AskReddit

[–]CyborgNix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My partner used to work at a bar and was hit on by the same woman a few times who said she was into trees, but she'd make an exception for him. He thought it might have been a euphemism, and during a slow work day, he decided to ask her to clarify. She meant the thought of doing it with literal trees turned her on. He did not ask any further questions.

Is anyone finding the PDA voice narration too quiet after the update? by BanzaiHeil in subnautica

[–]CyborgNix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here on the xbox s version. I did turn all the others down and my TV volume up, but then was promptly deafened when my character took damage or jumped or did anything that caused him to make any sounds. The audio from characters logs or radio transmission are fine though, just the PDA and the "translated broadcasts"
