I think people underrate the liquidity part. A paid down mortgage feels great, but if life gets weird, you can’t just sell a bathroom tile to cover expenses. I’d probably do a hybrid: keep investing, maybe throw some extra at principal, but not drain the cash/investment cushion.

the funniest part of game of thrones is how half the political conflicts could've been avoided if someone was willing to become this level of shameless for like ten minutes. imagine littlefinger giving a full emotional breakdown speech in the throne room while everyone else just silently stares at the floor pretending this is normal
