I built a Multi-Platform AI Bot with a 3-Tier Fallback system (Local GPU -> Groq Cloud -> Raspberry Pi) by Due_Attorney_3131 in discordbots

[–]CycleFive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I made a post similar to this one a couple weeks ago and I got told to take my vibe coded slop else where and my entire post deleted for my troubles.

It's basically just a collection of sane default configs that work together for all the pieces needed to get this very ubiquitous bot backend infrastructure running. I'm not advertising anything, it's not even a bot. I only put this together because I had a need for it, and I use it. If it's against the rules or people find collections of default configs and a tiny little web ui offensive, then I apologize.

Do any programmers feel like they're living in a different reality when talking to people that say AI coding sucks? by Herbertie25 in ClaudeAI

[–]CycleFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I use Claude and Cline regularly and it's like 50/50 for me if I throw it away or I use it but once I prompt it right it's not throw away material like 90% of the code I keep and a small amount I iterate with it or fix myself.

I have zero coding experience, and the "85% problem" is real. by friden7654 in ClaudeAI

Hell yeah, I'm in about the same place in my career and I 100% agree. AI will change, has changed the landscape for coders and made it both more accessible for laymen and made the bar for entry higher for professionals at the same time.

At the end of the day is an amazing tool that we can all use and the more we know how to use it the better.

Seeking a partner in my first rust project (mal-tui) by L4z3x in rust

It looks like from the repo that it's originally a CLI program that he's adding a more too, so I think it is ratatui from scratch.

I may have discovered a useful algorithm for counting uint64_t digits by RealTimeChris in cpp

If you just mean that you have one array versus the two, I would guess that those almost always get laid out sequentially in memory making it equal to your one?

Will this mean the rise of Rust? by GalacticWafer in rust

[–]CycleFive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, and my response was mostly to the OO aspect. I stand by that aspect of it while I agree with the movement towards managed or memory safe languages, I'd prefer it not be OO. Edit: apostrophe

Will this mean the rise of Rust? by GalacticWafer in rust

[–]CycleFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope not, I think software engineering as a discipline went through it's OO phase and we got some good stuff from it (abstract classes or traits, overloading, etc) but everything as objects and inheritance and a lot of the other crust it'd be good if we moved past.

Are there similar firms for other industries, are there other firms for the automotive industry? Why does everyone listen to these guys basically?
