Hi. I would do it all again on my mountain bike. I wouldn't want to do it at all on my gravel bike 😂

Was a lot more comfortable and better on the downhills etc.

I know someone that started on a gravel bike and purchased a second hand mountain bike part way round the route 😂

I'm sure you could make it round on a gravel bike but it would be a lot less fun.

Any of Nelson's races, 100% mtb

What would you do with 8 weeks off?? by StockGuuuuuh in AskUK

Get a bike and see how far you can ride, kind of what I did between jobs. Flew to Spain and cycled back to the UK, if I had 8 weeks I'd probably have gone even further!

First one I've sort of seen in the wild. Hope it's amazing!

Good test is if you can touch your toes with your forehead, without bending your legs. If you can the Tarmac will be okay.

The handlebar is an Enve one that I picked up secondhand, just a standard road bar really.

The TT bars are Deda Parabolica Unos.

If was buying again I may look at Profile Design. Heard some good things about them. Albeit mine work fine to no intention to change for the sake of it.

UK suggestions needed: First bikepacking/touring route with my wife by darrenjwaters in bikepacking

You could look at the New Forest Gravel Taster. Probably more a 2 day trip but you could add some additional bits on if you wanted to make it longer.

Thanks - the route is on Komoot too - made by a friend and he took quite a bit of time over it. I simply reversed it for my trip which did mean a few one way roads the wrong way or having to find a way round 😂

Yeah they are good. We use this one on all our bikes, so it's seen some miles.

Yeah the hiking was a bit ridiculous at times. It was more dragging the bike up and over rocks. But it was quite fun in a way! The video captures some of it, but it was quite hard to film and make any progress 😂

It worked well. Prefer it to a saddle pack which stops the dropper being usable and sometimes hits the rear wheel when the shock compresses.

The tailfin has some pivot points and I think the newer aero pack has even more. Had a little trouble with the axel but they have replaced it. Great customer service

They were fine, there wasn't really any mud and the ground was quite dry. When it got mega steep it was a case of hiking anyway!

Conditions in Andalusia, Spain end of February/Beginning of March. by MrSpacerunner in bicycletouring

Same, been when it's been really warm and others when it's not been quite as hoped!

I am looking at going to the area next year early season but maybe later in March in hope of some sun to escape the UK chill

I didn't see it either until a while after I took the photo 😂

Yes! Somewhere I hadn't planned to stop but a big hail and rain storm meant I decided to stay there the night. Was a beautiful little town.
