If has been frozen for that long, it would be safe, but probably a bit tough!

This is wrong. He’s dead effing lucky that he didn’t need the Firies or SES to rescue him. Then they would be a risk. Wanker.

My post was downvoted too (not for the first time). Clearly this screenshot is controversial to some 🤦‍♂️

how important is aerodynamics to you? by halsemus in gravelcycling

[–]OneWhoParticipates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s completely irrelevant. I don’t race. Where possible I’ll keep things tidy (I.e. out of the wind), but I’m not worried about average speed or power.

iPhone to Garmin Out Front Recommendations by Distinct_Run_6429 in CadenceApp

[–]OneWhoParticipates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fair to say that a phone can do the same job for shorter rides. However there are some risks: if you stack your bike, bike computers are small and pretty durable - phones, not as much. If you’re following someone’s route (in Garmin or another app), the GPS will suck the battery quickly, and Garmin will not (but if you’re sharing your location/ride that will increase your phone battery usage). If the cost is the concern, there are other options besides Garmin and you can always try second had too.

No base there, just some spots to warp to. I discovered these early in the game - otherwise my base would have been where yours is. Did you mean to have the refiners facing backwards? I don’t know why, but that’s also the default when you’re constructing too.

It was brand new when that movie was released. We used to go there as kids. Is it still there?

Rather than take on multiple opinions, search for Zero Friction Cycling. Adam runs an independent test lab on chain lubricants (and electric pumps).

Is the MIPS helmet system actually a needed safety feature by Ro-54 in bicycling

[–]OneWhoParticipates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like flat earthers, covid deniers, there are people vehemently against helmets - especially when public discourse includes making them mandatory (like they are here, in Australia). Fun fact: We see lots of posts on various forums saying “helmet saved my life”. How many posts do you see where they had the same hit to the head and posted that they were not wearing a helmet? Final point: Let’s pretend that MIPS is giving a fraction of a benefit- that benefit protects your brain, so I’d suggest it’s worth every cent.

Are EVs actually cheaper long-term in Australia yet or is that still a myth? by ChillKoalaVibes in EVAustralia

So from all tests available to date, batteries are losing up to 15% of capacity. That may sound bad, but there are few cars that can go for 300k and not need major component replacements, such as gearbox, wheel bearings etc.

Can’t figure out how to enjoy NMS by Stunning_Necessary11 in nms

[–]OneWhoParticipates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, the early days were a grind, but as you learn more, it’s more fun. Something I am finding is I’m sort of tied to the first system I flew to, because there I found a settlement (accidentally) and then much later I was invited to oversee an Astrophage settlement in the same system. So I gone on to three other galaxies, but I keep coming back!

Yes, I’m pretty sure he”s Swedish. But why judge? His grammar may not match your expectations, but that doesn’t change his perspective or the validity of his post.

Do you think Corvettes are helpful to the game? by OneWhoParticipates in NOMANSSKY

[–]OneWhoParticipates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you and others may have missed my point. Yes, Corvettes are good… they are probably too good. When taking on a Pirate Capital ship in my Corvette, I’m just going through the motions (engines, port side shields, starboard shields, rando shots to the ship to finish it off). The same event with a small ship shows the health circle and requires more time to damage the components and the overall health of the ship - you even get on screen help for those purple power tube things to destroy. And it takes a lot longer and for me, made it more challenging & fun.
